Paula Deen Cuddles Husband Michael Groover as She Marks Their Anniversary with a Cute Photo

“Paula’s Home Cookin” star chef Paula Deen gave love another chance when she married her second husband sixteen years ago, and she recently gushed about the love of her life to mark a couple milestone.

74-year-old TV personality and cooking show host Paula Deen and her 65-year-old husband Michael Groover have been married for 16 years, and the two recently celebrated their latest anniversary.

To mark the occasion, Paula took to her official social media to share an adorable snapshot of herself and Groover that pictures the husband and wife as they smile at the camera in a side-hug.

The photo, shared on March 6, 2021, on Paula’s Instagram, was presumably taken at their shared home in Savannah, Georgia, and it shows Paula dressed casually in a black, buttoned shirt over white pants, captioning the post:

“Happy anniversary to the love of my life and the one who can always make me laugh—my husband Michael!”

The post was well-received among Paula’s many fans, and it went on to receive more than 18,000 likes, with several Instagram users taking to the comments section to congratulate the couple and sent their good wishes.

“Happy anniversary! Wishing you many more years together!!” a person wrote. “Happy Anniversary, love bugs,” a second user commented. “Lovely picture, lovely couple,” a third user wrote.

16 YEARS TOGETHER

Paula married Groover in 2004, 15 years after divorcing her first husband Jimmy Deen, with whom she stayed in an unhappy marriage for 24 years, and this time she encountered true love, in an unexpected way.

The story started with Paula looking for her lost dogs in 2002, which caused her to meet her then-neighbor Groover, who immediately took a liking to her and went on to ask her on a date on his boat.

Groover worked as a tugboat captain until his retirement, meaning he spent a lot of time alone and only communicating by radio, which is a very different background from Paula, who is used to be in the spotlight.

Groover is also happy to be a great stepfather to Paula’s grown children Bobby and Jamie, known as the Deen Brothers, also TV-chefs and restaurateurs like their famous mother.

In 2009, only five years into his marriage with Paula, Groover collected his experiences with his celebrity wife in the memoir “My Delicious Life with Paula Deen,” which also included some of his own favorite recipes.

Even though insisting rumors about Paula and Groover’s heading to a divorce circulated in 2015, following an alleged cheating scandal, the two lovebirds continue to live happily together to this day.
