Kate Hudson Says Co-parenting Has Brought Her Closer to Ex-husband Matt Bellamy
Fashion entrepreneur Kate Hudson got candid about her co-parenting relationship with her former spouse, English singer Matt Bellamy, and how they’re drawn closer.
Kate Hudson admitted that co-parenting their 9-year-old son with her ex-husband Matt Bellamy has brought them closer. Hudson revealed they made a pact long ago regarding their child Bingham.
In an interview with Women’s Health, she said, “One thing that Matt said to me, which I loved, is ‘I just want to make sure that Bing feels like he’s gaining something, not losing something.’”

During the past year, the former couple have clung to that credo. Speaking on it, Hudson said, "I think it's bonded us closer," and she referenced her current partner, Danny Fujikawa, and Matt's wife, Elle Evans.
Hudson added that they need to trust that they are protecting each other. Although she is busy with work, she still manages to spend some quality time with her kids.

She is a mother to her first-born child Ryder, 17, Bingham, and two-year-old daughter Rani Rose. Co-parenting has been successful for her with strategizing.
Although Hudson has too much on her hands, she reportedly has no intention to stop being busy, ever. According to the publication, she is grateful for all she has.
Hudson and Bellamy welcomed Bingham in July 2011 in Los Angeles. When she was pregnant with him, she reportedly did not want to know the sex of the baby and had a hunch that it was a baby girl, but it came out to be a boy.
At the time, the pair were engaged to be married. According to People, Muse frontman asked the actress to marry him after dating for about a year.
Hudson and Bellamy reportedly separated quietly in 2014 but did not initially confirm that they split until December of that year. The mom of three opened up about their breakup in 2015 and said:
“Relationships ending are painful, and you can choose to carry that, or you can choose to reframe it.”
She added that if she and Bellamy had a good relationship, they would still be together, but they chose to move on because they were on different life paths. However, she noted that it did not mean they could not make the best out of the situation for the kids' sake.
Bellamy and Hudson were together for reportedly four years, and since their split, they have been spotted together several times and even continue to work on their wine company together. Speaking on her family dynamics, she said it had been a unified transition.
Hudson revealed that she came from a broken family, and she benefitted from the consistent presence of having a stepfather in her life. She added that it’s something she is mindful of and wants in her life.
