CELEBRATING HER SPECIAL DAY
The "My Heart Will Go On" singer posted three photos of her in a celebratory mood while cutting the birthday cake. The post that had over 200,000 likes showed the musically-themed cake, which is brown and rectangular.
The shot also showed Dion snapped, holding the cutter while she looked up. Behind her, you can see a white backdrop of her music poster with her face on it.
Dion opted for a more casual look at the time and wore a black crop top with a tartan gray mini skirt. She styled her short blonde hair in a sleeked-back look.
Another shot showed her pulling a funny face while holding a cake with a knife up to her mouth and looked up still. One picture showed her with the same pose.
DION’S MUSIC HONORED
According to People, Dion marked her special day with a set of two photographs that appeared to have been taken during a release party for her 1996 Billboard 200 chart-topper “Falling Into You.”
According to the outlet, last week, they announced that her "most legendary video” for her song "It's All Coming Back to Me Now" had been remastered in high definition.
News reports also revealed that Dion is among the recipients who will be presented with an honorary Doctor of Music degree from Berklee College School of Music. She took to Twitter to share her gratitude and excitement for the recognition.
HONORING HER LATE SPOUSE
In January, she also remembered her late husband and former manager Rene Angelil on his death's fifth anniversary. Angelil died in 2016 at age 74 following years of battling throat cancer.
According to People, Dion shared a monochromatic image of her and Angelil holding hands. She wrote on Instagram that not one day passes by without them (she and their kids) thinking of him.
FACING HARSH CRITICS
Apart from dealing with her loss over the years, she has also had to deal with body shaming. According to USA Today, back in 2019, social media users and the tabloids targeted Dion; they criticized her weight and deemed her "too skinny."
On the other hand, the mom of three was left unbothered by the comments and instead showed off her toned biceps. According to the outlet, Dion said one could not please everybody.
