He further wished everyone a safe and happy Easter, from his family to theirs. Those who commented on the former POTUS's post also wished him and his family a happy Easter.
Michelle also joined her husband in wishing everyone a happy Easter by sharing a sweet collage of her and Obama's pictures at the White House Easter Egg roll event in 2016.
The former president described Farquharson, who schools in Harvard with Malia, as a wonderful young man.
In the adorable post's caption, Michelle wrote, "Barack and I are wishing so much joy and light to everyone celebrating on this Easter Sunday!"
The much-adored couple, who has been married since 1992, spent much of 2020 quarantining with Malia and Sasha and celebrated their 28th wedding anniversary last October.
They had an additional guest while quarantining, as Obama revealed during an appearance on the "Bill Simmons Podcast" that Malia's boyfriend, Rory Farquharson, spent some time with them.
According to Obama, Farquharson was stuck because of a visa issue, so the Obama family took him in. The former president described Farquharson, who schools in Harvard with Malia, as a wonderful young man.
Meanwhile, Obama is mourning the passing of his step-grandma, Sarah, who died in a Kenyan hospital last week. She was 99 at the time of her death.
Sarah, who Obama affectionately called Granny Sarah, is remembered for how she defended him during the 2008 presidential campaign when he was said to be Muslim and not born in the US.
