Despite their questionable relationship spark, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie were once the A-list couple to look up to. They managed to build a beautiful family together and eventually united for the marriage of the decade.

Unfortunately, the public’s perception of Brangelina did not last long after their legal union. The pair divorced just two years after their 2014 nuptials and twelve years together as a romantic couple.

When Jolie filed for divorce from Pitt in 2016, no one was prepared for the

that followed. However, the essential fact that Jolie filed for primary custody of their children should have served as a clue.

Jolie was temporarily granted primary custody of the children, meaning Pitt could only visit his them with a therapist present. Reports of an altercation between Pitt and his oldest son emerged in the media to make matters worse.

Fortunately, Pitt was cleared of child abuse allegations within months, and a temporary custody agreement was made. Although Pitt was finally clear, he could only see his children with a court-approved psychologist present.

As the couple continued on their path to find a suitable custody agreement in 2017, it became evident that things were turning bitter between the former couple. Consequently, the duo agreed to keep their custody documents from the public.

However, the damage had been done. It already emerged that Pitt alleged Jolie was ignoring their children’s best interest by making details of their proceedings public. Jolie hit back by claiming the actor was only afraid to be exposed.

Finally, Pitt was cut some slack in 2018 when officials urged Jolie to help nurture Pitt’s relationship with his children. Pitt was also offered more unsupervised time, calls, and texts with his children as part of a temporary agreement.

Unfortunately, the bliss did not last for Pitt as Jolie called her ex out for not paying enough child support. Nonetheless, the former couple reached an agreement in private, although it did not give Pitt 50% custody.

Two years into the agreement, Pitt decided that he wanted a fair split resulting in the pair going back to court. Over twenty people spoke as witnesses for the proceedings, and Pitt was initially granted joint custody this May.

However, Jolie appealed against the judge, who granted them joint custody due to his relations with Pitt. As a result, Jolie was granted full custody of the pair’s minor children in July.

Although it seemed that the custody battle was concluded, Pitt recently filed documents that will reignite it. The actor is seeking a review of the court’s ruling, which could result in their proceedings starting over.

Both parties have communicated that their actions have been in the best interest of their children’s healing. The couple share Maddox, 20, Pax, 17, Zahara, 16, Shiloh, 15, and 13-year-old twins Vivienne and Knox.
