Jeffrey Donovan rose to indelible fame when he starred as Michael Westen on "Burn Notice." Today he is a newcomer on "Law & Order," playing Detective Frank Cosgrove. Meet his adorable family.

Jeffrey Donovan has worked his way up the ladder, from starring in the short-lived series "Threshold" to landing leading roles in the American remake of "Touching Evil."

He has also guest-starred in the police drama series "Homicide: Life on the Street," the action drama "The Pretender," "Witchblade," "Millennium," the detective mystery series "Monk," "Spin City" and the police procedural series "CSI: Miami."

His other film role credits include playing Bill Weboy in the neo-western film "Let Him Go," Jim Hunt in the science-fiction drama "Lucy in the Sky," and Jackson in the thriller heist film "Wrath of Man."

Over a decade after "Law & Order" got canceled, it is back on the screen for its 21st season. Former cast members such as Anthony Anderson and Sam Waterstop will reprise their roles from the original.

However, the cast also has several newcomers, such as Odelya Halevi and Hugh Dancy. Another addition to the show is the talented Donovan, who plays the role of regular detective Frank Cosgrove in the new season.

When Donovan starred as Michael Westen on "Burn Notice," he says the role was like reliving his fragmented family life. He told Time Out in 2008, as The Things reports:

"The writers can't believe Michael's universe is so in-tune with my mom raised us three boys by herself on welfare."

Since the show got canceled, fans have been curious whether the actor has built himself a more stable personal life. Is he married? Does he have children? Let's dive into the details of his family life.

Donovan's skills have seen him appear in some of Hollywood's most revered roles, but his boyish looks and delicate features landed him the love of a beautiful woman, model Michelle Woods.

Donovan has admitted that filming "Burn Notice" often felt like a prison to him as it reminded him of his challenging past. However, the silver lining is that he met his gorgeous wife on the show. He told the Build Series, as The Things reports:

"The people involved in that show were incredibly smart...but at the time (so many years on the same show) seemed like...a prison sentence...It changed everything. I met my future wife while shooting that."

While Woods only had a minor role in the show, it was enough to steal the lead's heart, and in 2012, they tied the knot. A few months later, they welcomed their first child together, daughter Claire.

They have since expanded their family, welcoming their second child, Lucas, in 2014 and the third in 2017. Even after so many years, Donovan still heaps praises on his wife for being a wonderful mother to their children.

Despite having a busy work schedule, the actor enjoys being a hands-on father to his three kids. He says time away from his family due to work is challenging for him. However, he ensures he keeps in touch with his babies through facetime whenever he gets the chance to.
