Who Is Peter Dinklage’s Wife? All about Erica Schmidt, Award-Winning Playwright and Theater Director
Peter Dinklage's wife is a successful woman in the entertainment industry who has a strong passion for the craft. Here's a look at Erica Schmidt and her life behind the scenes with Dinklage.
Peter Dinklage is turning 53 on June 11, 2022, and the celebration of his life includes the success of his stage, television, and film career. There is no denying that Dinklage is among the best actors of this generation, evident by his award-winning performances.
Born in 1969, Dinklage's parents learned early on that their son had a genetic condition called achondroplasia. The diagnosis, a form of dwarfism, affected his bone growth and made him grow only to a certain height.
Dinklage's condition once caused him frustration, but as he pursued a career in acting, his skill in the craft showed that height is no consideration for success. Starting as a stage actor, Dinklage had his first taste of success during his fifth-grade theater performance of "The Velveteen Rabbit."
Undoubtedly, he had a natural talent, which became evident when he received critical acclaim for his starring role in "The Station Agent." He received nominations for his performance, including an Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Leading Role and a Best Male Lead.
Continuous success came in the following years, especially when he starred in the HBO series "Game of Thrones," where he won a Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actor and an Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series.

Amidst his fame, Dinklage found love with Erica Schmidt, a star in her own right in the entertainment industry. Born in 1975, Schmidt is an actress, writer, and director, known for writing the film "Cyrano," which stars her husband.
Schmidt directed stage productions as well, such as "Debbie Does Dallas," "A Month in the Country," and "All the Fine Boys." Her husband said of Schmidt's passion for the arts:
"She loves theatre. Unlike a lot of other people in our profession where film is the ultimate goal, theatre is sacred to her. It's not entertainment; it's art. She's just very inspiring."

HOW LONG HAVE DINKLAGE AND SCHMIDT BEEN TOGETHER?
The couple first crossed paths in 2002 in what seemed to be an evening of theatrics. There was a circus in town amidst snowfall, and elephants were walking through the streets of Manhattan.
"It was like something out of a beautiful, fantastical, end-of-the-world crazy, romantic movie," Dinklage said. "So that's the night we met – the night the elephants walked through Manhattan."
In 2005, the couple tied the knot and had since been committed to each other and their family. The pair share two children, born in 2011 and 2017. Although high-profile stars, Dinklage and Schmidt want to keep their kids out of the spotlight, which is why their names were never publicly confirmed.
