When she isn't posing in pink dresses, Sorvino loves spending weekends with her family, cooking, and playing board games together. The "Beautiful Girls" actress believes these activities she and her husband partake in with the kids help keep their own relationship strong.
Sorvino said the family mostly spends their weekends at the beach and follows up by sharing a meal. Then, she said they follow this up by playing games or watching films.
MIRA SORVINO SHARES HER SECRETS FOR A LONG-LASTING MARRIAGE
Of course, beyond spending time with their kids, spending time only with each other is paramount for a marriage to stand the test of time. Sorvino opened up about their date nights and said:
"We'll go to a hotel somewhere. This is our ritual. We'll be like, 'Where do you want to go tonight?' We'll pick up the phone, and we'll see. Maybe we'll go to Pasadena, or maybe we'll go to downtown L.A., or maybe we'll go to Beverly Hills, or Venice Beach, or just someplace out of our zone, and just go to dinner."
This mom still tries to soak up all the quality time she can get with her children, not just on weekends but also on weekdays. Sorvino explained that finding space for everyone to be together can be challenging because of the busyness of life. This rat race is why, she continued, the quarantine came with the blessing of more family time.

Around a year later, after this meeting, the two exchanged vows. They walked in the shoes of Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin, who, among many celebrities, know to get married in Santa Barbara if they want privacy from the press.
The actor [Backus] was allegedly shouting at security and the guests while holding a bat in his hand.
Two weeks after they said their "I do's," Sorvino's publicist shared that on June 11, 2004, the two married at the Santa Barbara courthouse. This announcement surprised some, who previously reported that the couple would be getting married on the Isle of Capri. Later, Sorvino confirmed that they had another ceremony for their family on this island.
Later that year, the couple traveled to Rome for a project the Oscar-winning actress was working on. Speaking about their time there, Sorvino expressed:
"We've just had the most amazing [trip], almost like a honeymoon while I'm working, By getting all this time to run around the city and go to the beautiful sites."
She excitedly spoke about their adventures in the city, from having picnics and running in the Borghese Gardens. Beyond secret weddings and exploring the Eternal City with his partner, Backusalso gained Sorvino's late father's approval, who, before passing, said that his son-in-law is a fantastic man.
FACING HARD TIMES
Some people may have had a different impression of Backus when the cops purportedly arrested him in 2011. At 12:37 on February 13, 2011, they booked him into San Diego Central Jail.
This detainment occurred after a purported incident at Hyatt Regency Islandia in San Diego. The actor was allegedly shouting at security and the guests while holding a bat in his hand.
Sources from law enforcement claimed that before the cops arrived, people staying at the hotel complained about a loud argument between Sorvino and Backus. The police were called only to arrive at the hotel when Backus was purportedly causing a scene.
These sources stated that they tried calming him down using the drunk tank. However, he allegedly continued with his erratic behavior, and they had to detain him.

Following her dad's passing, Sorvino took to Instagram and Twitter, where she posted tributes in honor of her dad, stating that he was an amazing person and would be sorely missed. Her relationship with her father was special, and they had a close bond from when she was a child; many called her a "Daddy's girl."

Upon winning an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress, the daughter stated in her speech that her dad was the reason for her acting abilities. .
