Anna Wintour's Daughter Bee Shaffer Is Following in Her Mother's Journalism Footsteps – Inside Her Life
Renowned New York-based British journalist Dame Anna Wintour was married to David Shaffer for about 15 years, and they had two children before their divorce. Their only daughter Bee Shaffer is a producer and now walking in her mother's journalistic footsteps.
Anna Wintour has become one of the most influential personas in the modern fashion industry. Like her father, she became a journalist even though she dropped out of school at 16.
From the beginning of her career, she has worked in fashion. She started working at a fashion store before becoming an editorial assistant at Harper's & Queen, now known as Harper's Bazaar in London, and has moved between the UK and the US.

In the mid-1980s, Anna became the editor-in-chief of British Vogue, and with her first issue, she began to make changes that revolutionized the fashion industry. By the late 1980s, she became the editor-in-chief of Vogue and returned to the US.
Her decisions on who made the covers and the fashion items selected for the magazine's shoots helped launch the careers of designers like Marc Jacobs and Alexander McQueen.
Anna was a force to reckon with, and all of her staff may not have welcomed her go-getter attitude. In 2003, one of her former assistants, Lauren Weisberger, wrote "The Devil Wears Prada," which later became a movie.
Even though the book was fictional, the fashion icon was the main inspiration for the character of Miranda Priestly. Right before her career took off, she married professor David Shaffer in 1984.
In 1987, they welcomed their first child, a son, Charles "Charlie" Shaffer, and in 1989, they had their second child, a daughter, Katherine "Bee" Shaffer.
Bee Shaffer Is Anna Wintour's Only Daughter
Bee, as she is fondly called, is Anna Wintour's youngest and only daughter. Despite her mother working in fashion, she did not share her mother's interest in the love of fashion. She said:
"I never thought I was going to work in fashion. It never occurred to me. I thought I wanted to be in journalism."
Coming from a family of journalists, she fell in love with the career path. Every internship she did in the entertainment section of a magazine made her know she had chosen right.
She has also worked in television as a producer for NBC on "Late Night with Seth Meyers." However, Bee had always wanted to be an actress. As a child, she asked her mother to sign her up for acting classes because she loved the theater.
After almost four years as a producer for the show, sources revealed that she left to pursue her passions as she got a job with Ambassador Theatre Group.
Colin Firth Officiated Bee Shaffer's Wedding
On July 7, 2018, Bee married Italian film director and photographer Francesco Carrozzini in an intimate wedding at her mother's house in New York. The event was so private that phones and social media posts about the wedding were forbidden.
The couple, whose engagement was announced in March 2017, had requested the social media ban at the wedding officiated by the English actor Colin Firth.
After their first wedding ceremony, the couple had a second ceremony in a small local church in Portofino, Italy, that same month.
Bee Shaffer Recently Welcomed Her First Baby
Shortly after celebrating their third wedding anniversary, Bee took to Instagram to reveal that she and Francesco were expecting their first child.
In September, she showed off her baby bump for the second time in a professional photo session. The couple welcomed their son, Oliver Sozzani Carrozzini, on October 25, 2021, and the new mother took to Instagram to announce his birth one week later.
