Caruso Jack Maniscalco Was Named after a Hotel - Facts about Sebastian Maniscalco's Son

Caruso Jack Maniscalco is the youngest child and only son of Sebastian Maniscalco and Lana Gomez. His name originated from a hotel where his parents stayed during their honeymoon.

Caruso Jack Maniscalco's parents, Lana Gomez and Sebastian Maniscalco, married in 2013 and are both involved in the entertainment history. The couple celebrated their 9th wedding anniversary this year and are raising two adorable kids together.

Before Caruso Jack joined the family, his sister Serafina Simone Maniscalco was the first to arrive in May 2017. The siblings regularly appear on their parents' social media pages, revealing quite a strong bond.

Caruso Jack enjoyed playing with dolls with his sister. When he was born, his parents shared a sweet photo of Serafina Simone cradling her baby brother in her little arms while she smiled at the camera.

Caruso Jack drew his first breath in Los Angeles on June 15, 2019. He weighed 8 pounds and 13 ounces and measured 20 inches in height. When speaking about the origins of his son's first name, Sebastian said he and Lana had been mulling over it for a while.

It commemorated a lovely honeymoon the couple enjoyed on the Amalfi coast in Italy while they stayed at Hotel Caruso. Eventually, they found that Caruso translated to "boy" in Sicilian, and for them, that "sealed the deal."

Caruso Jack's name may have sentimental value, but so does his sister's. Her names came from both sides of the family, the first deriving from her paternal great-grandmother, Serafina, and the second from her maternal grandmother, Simone.

Her brother's birth also came with blessings, as only a few days after his arrival, their dad was named the 2019 MTV VMAs host. Speaking about the opportunity, Sebastian admitted that he wasn't familiar with the pop-culture music scene or its artists.

He noted that MTV wanted an "unfiltered" perspective of the VMAs, and he found that exciting. Despite thinking Cardi B – a mom of two – was a spice or supplement or that Billie Eilish was a man, Sebastian felt his unfamiliarity gave him an advantage.

Caruso Broke His Collarbone before Going to Mexico

Appearing on CBS, Caruso Jack's dad debuted a parenting podcast called "Daddy Vs. Doctor" alongside his family's pediatrician Scott Cohen. On this platform, they shared parenting advice based on their own experiences.

The co-hosts spoke with a couple who shared a then-13-month-old son and struggled to deal with his temper tantrums. Children's behaviors when they throw tantrums can sometimes put them in harm's way, and the said couple wondered if it was normal.

Scott explained it was indeed normal, describing it as "attention-seeking behavior." Sebastian also struggled with Caruso Jack's tantrums; however, he found that distracting the youngster helped to calm him.

Whenever they started, Sebastian would change the environment he and Caruso Jack were in, for example, taking him from the living room to the garage. Last year in April, the father of two opened up about an unfortunate incident where Caruso Jack fractured his clavicle during one of his gymnastics classes.

After Caruso Jack started experiencing discomfort, they took him to the doctor, and he got some x-rays. His dad worried if the injury would affect his mobility in the future, but their family pediatrician assured him that the clavicle would heal itself over time. He also advised Sebastian to keep Caruso Jack's activity to a minimum while he recovered.

Caruso Likes to Play with Dolls

Caruso Jack started school last year in September, as his mom revealed in an Instagram post. He posed alongside Serafina Simone as they smiled for the picture while holding their dolls. Caruso enjoyed playing with dolls with his sister; they would feed them and take them out for stroller rides.

The 3-year-old also appeared onstage with his family after one of his dad's shows. Earlier this year, Sebastian made a hilarious comparison between his picture and Caruso Jack's making silly facial expressions. The famous comedian also described his son as the "next Ronaldo," perhaps hinting that Caruso Jack had taken an interest in soccer.

Caruso Jack also bonds with his grandfather, a stylist based in Chicago, who started giving him haircuts when he was still a toddler. The stylist underwent significant shoulder surgery late last year but returned to work and gave his grandson a haircut.

Caruso Has Jewish Roots on His Mother's Side

Caruso Jack inherited his mom's Jewish and his dad's Italian roots. His mom was born on April 23, 1983, in the U.S. and worked as a producer and painter. She's known for a few projects starring her husband, including 2014's "Sebastian Maniscalco: Aren't You Embarrassed?" and 2021's "Well Done Sebastian Maniscalco."
