Elizabeth Taylor, who passed away in March 2011, was regarded as one of the most legendary figures in Hollywood during its Golden Age. She appeared in a wide range of films, many of which earned her prestigious awards like Oscars and Golden Globes.

Even though Elizabeth was famous and had a successful career, not much was known about her children, although two of whom went into the entertainment industry like their mother.

Christopher Wilding Followed in His Mother's Footsteps and Became an Actor

Christopher Edward Wilding, born in Los Angeles, California, on February 27, 1955, is Taylor's son from her second marriage to English actor Michael Wilding.

Wilding followed in his mother's footsteps in the entertainment industry and became an actor. He rose to prominence in films such as "The Shadow," "Overboard," and "Tombstone."

After getting many experiences as an actor, Wilding became a director and film editor. The Hollywood Reporter noted in 2016 that he had already retired from editing films.

Even though Wilding's Hollywood career had ended, it did not prevent him from reminiscing about the industry that recognized his late mother's talent. Taylor was an iconic actress who won multiple accolades and recognitions during her time. Wilding said of his legendary mom:

"She was so beautiful, some people tended to overlook her great acting chops."

When Taylor was still alive, Wilding remembered that, when he and his brother were still little boys, his mother would let him play with her Golden Globe trophies but not her Oscars.

Wilding stated that the Golden Globes did not seem to matter to the award-winning actress at the time because they had no value compared to the awards his mother won at the Academy Awards.

Even though Wilding never got to play with Taylor's most coveted awards, the Oscars—after his mom's passing—found a new home on a shelf in his living room in Calabasas, California. Wilding felt "thrilled" to have his mom's Oscars.

Wilding is now happily married to his second wife, Margaret Carlton, and shares a child with her. He was previously married to his ex-wife, Aileen Getty, with whom he has two kids.

Michael Howard Wilding, Jr., like his famous parents and younger brother, pursued acting.

Maria Burton Is Elizabeth Taylor's Only Adopted Child

The cinema legend had only one adopted child, a German-born girl named Maria Burton. When Maria was three years old, she was adopted during the late actress's marriage to her fourth husband, Eddie Fisher.

After her divorce from Fisher in 1964, Taylor married her fifth husband, Welsh actor Richard Burton, who adopted and raised Burton as his child. Burton settled in Idaho as a philanthropist and clothing designer.

Burton is also a mother to Elizabeth Diane, her daughter with talent agent Daniel S. Carson. The couple, who married in February 1981, had a tumultuous relationship. Carson reportedly sued his wife for custody of their child in 1986.

Carson also claimed that Burton secretly took Elizabeth Diane away from his house in Manhattan, New York, and then brought her daughter to Taylor's Los Angeles home. He also claimed that his wife at that time was "harmful and irresponsible."

It's unclear where Burton is now, but Carson had requested that their custody and visitation issues be resolved. Their divorce and custody proceedings, however, were still pending at the time.

Michael Wilding Jr. Also Became an Actor like His Famous Parents

Michael Howard Wilding, Jr., like his famous parents and younger brother, pursued acting. Wilding Jr., born on January 6, 1953, in Santa Monica, California, appeared in several classic films.

Wilding Jr. gained prominence from the late 50s to the 80s with movies such as "Guiding Light," "Dallas," and "Deadly Illusion." Aside from his personal life, there wasn't much information about him in his professional life.

Wilding Jr. and his wife, Brooke Palance, to whom he has been married since August 1982, are the parents of one child. He was previously married to Betty Clutter before he married Brooke.

Liza Todd Is a Sculptor

Liza Todd was Taylor's daughter from her third husband, theater and film producer Mike Todd. The former couple's daughter seems to live a private life, but her work as a sculptor has made her a well-known artist in that field.

Todd is recognized as one of the best equestrian sculptors today. She was young and living in England and Switzerland when she became interested in horses.

Todd went to Hornsey College of Art in London and then the Art Institute of California in Los Angeles. She used to paint horses, but since 2016, she has focused on sculpting African wildlife, especially orphaned elephants.

Many art lovers are amazed by Todd's unique sculptures, exhibited throughout the United States and Europe. Some of her best works are in private art collections, while others were displayed on horse farms.

Taylor's two daughters and sons seem unaffected by the potential drawbacks of growing up with famous parents. They continue to live happy, successful, and peaceful lives.

They are proud of her Hollywood career and accomplishments, even though she is no longer with them. This demonstrates that they have avoided the potential drawbacks of growing up with a famous parent.

It just shows that Elizabeth Taylor's two daughters and two sons continue to live happy, prosperous, and peaceful lives away from the inconveniences their parents' fame could have caused.

The Wilding brothers, Todd, and Burton, were proud of their mother's successful Hollywood career and all of her accomplishments, even though she was no longer alive to see the legacy she left behind.
