Bailey Jean Cypher Was Conceived Via Artificial Insemination
Bailey Jean Cypher's parents are singer Mellisa Etheridge and her former partner Julie Cypher. When the former couple wanted to start a family in the 90s, they opted to look for a sperm donor.
Amongst those on the list included celebrated actor Brad Pitt. But after careful consideration, Bailey's parents concluded Pitt wasn't a good fit. Bailey's mother sorted the help of their good friend Crosby, a fellow singer and someone who already had a family.
Bailey's mother said that choosing Crosby as a sperm donor was the best decision because since he had children, he did it as a gift. Bailey was born in 1997, followed by her brother Beckett Cypher in 1998, conceived the same way.
