Actor Penn donned a jacket with cargo pants and boots and carried a backpack during the trip. Meanwhile, actress Wright was snapped behind him wearing an all-black outfit with shades while also carrying a backpack.
Penn and Wright started dating in 1989 and were on and off for years before getting hitched in 1996. The pair welcomed two kids together and were spotted with them during their stated reunion.
Why Did Penn and His Ex-wife Wright Appear Together for the First Time in 6 Years?
Wright disclosed the real story behind the reunion pictures with her former husband. The Texas native revealed she and Penn had to attend their kids' event, as they share son and daughter, Hopper and Dylan:
"We're always going to be a family, whether we're together, or apart, and I think that's beautiful and I wish that for everybody."

Wright and Penn's reunion came nine months after he finalized his divorce from his third wife, Leila George, following two years of marriage and four months after Wright filed for divorce from her third husband, Clemente Giraudet, after four years together.
Speaking on her friendship with the father of her kids, the director said it is a "gift." She explained that going through a legal separation with kids involved is never easy.
Despite going their separate ways, Wright and Penn have remained involved in their children's lives, including working with them in films.

The mother of two discussed those experiences and said they are a close-knit family. Wright shared she and Penn and their kids have always been close.
The Emmy Award nominee also expressed eagerness to continue collaborating with their brood, even if it included their beloved father.
Penn & Wright's Divorce and Their Lives After That
Penn and Wright initially filed for divorce in 2007 and had it finalized in 2010. The "Wonder Woman" star opened up about the separation in a 2014 interview and said:
"Divorce in and of itself, and with children, is devastating – worse than that."

Wright further explained that she and Penn split many times for an extended period of time but always got back together for one reason only.
The "Santa Barbara" alum explained she and the film director rekindled their romance more than once because they had their family in mind, adding because they had children together, they were bonded by them and had to "try again."

Meanwhile, her former spouse, Penn, admitted in 1997 that being married was tough even though there were some good times in their union:
"Marriage is not easy, but it's great most of the time. I love Robin. I've always loved her."
The two-time Academy Award winner and the Golden Globe Award winner were married for eleven years before deciding to end their marriage.
What Became of Their Kids?
When raising their offspring, Penn and Wright reportedly did not see eye-to-eye on parenting. However, they have mastered co-parenting and have shown they can be cordial with one another throughout the years.
The pair have always put their brood first, especially Wright, who sacrificed her career for them. The devoted mom once passed on a Vanity Fair cover opportunity.

In contrast, Penn has done the opposite by juggling fatherhood with his busy Hollywood career. The proud dad gushed over his kids, including what they have accomplished.
He stated they are "amazing people" who are actors and models, adding he was 100 percent behind them in their respective career paths as long as they are "happy and healthy."

Dylan is Penn and Wright's firstborn, whom they welcomed on April 13, 1991. As her father said, she has followed in her parents' footsteps and made her movie debut as an actress in 2015's "Condemned."
Dylan later appeared in "Unregistered," "Flag Day," and "Elvis & Nixon," among others. As a model, she has worked for publications, including GQ and Elle.

Wright and Penn's second child, Hopper, arrived on August 6, 1993. Like the rest of his family, he also found his foot in showbiz, and his most memorable roles include, (2018) "Between Worlds," (2017) "War Machine," and (2016) "The Last Face."
Hopper is good-looking, so it is no wonder he dabbled in modeling. He has shared some behind-the-scenes photos from his photoshoots on social media. His Instagram page is filled with pictures of family and friends.
