Lizzo and Jennifer Hudson wished the legend a happy day. Gloria Estefan wrote that she is glad their paths crossed almost 29 years ago, calling him a "warm, loving, and generous friend and father." The Recording Academy thanked the music veteran for "his vision," while Eric Bellinger labeled him: "THEE EXAMPLE."

Quincy Jones' 90 years are filled with fascinating stories of people he met, like how Nelson Mandela failed to convince him to pet a cheetah and Oprah Winfrey tried to sell him on Barack and Michelle Obama in May 2007, bringing them around for a 6-hour discussion at his kitchen table.

The multiple Grammy Award winner does sudoku to keep "dementia and Parkinson's" at bay, which he fights "like a warrior." He maintains that one needs to challenge one's brain or lose it.

The nonagenarian added a postscript in his birthday post on Instagram: "Hope to see all-a-yawl at my 90th birthday concert." The tribute concerts at the Hollywood Bowl will take place on July 28 and 29, 2023.

In "Quincy," his Netflix documentary co-directed by his daughter Rashida Jones, the composer said: "You only live 26,000 days, and I'm going to wear them all out," which amounts to 71 years. The world is fortunate to have the composer around nearly two decades past this estimate.
