Brendan Fraser's Son Leland Fraser Shows His Own Talents after Supporting Father at the Oscars

Although Leland Fraser did not follow in his father's footsteps and pursue a career in film, he has had his dad's support during his musical career. And at the 2023 Oscars, Leland Fraser returned the favor when he made a rare appearance on the award show's carpet.

Brendan and his ex-wife, Afton Smith, welcomed Leland in May 2006, and despite his father's fame, the youngest of three grew up out of the spotlight.

Although his father is well-known for his roles in many dramas and comedies, Leland found success as a musician. He recently took to Instagram to share a glimpse of his musical talent while he performed on stage.

Leland was the picture of a rock star as he wore his hair loose and completed his look with a black leather jacket. He is a member of a band called The Alligators and recently, the musical group landed a gig on the stage of a popular bar called The Whisky a Go Go.

On Leland's big night to perform, the bar's Instagram account revealed that Brendan was one of the faces in the crowd cheering on his son. The actor's support came only a day after his son was doing the cheering when Brendan won his first Oscar.

"This is awesome," one social media user wrote, "So cool to see you and your brother supporting your father at the Oscars. Congrats to you all, and best of luck on your projects." "You were so awesome last night! So great meeting you and your dad. Please come back!" another person shared about Leland's performance.

Leland Was One Proud Son as His Father Won an Oscar

Brendan walked the carpet on the night of the Oscars with his partner Jeanne Moore, Leland, and his other son Holden. "We are unbelievably proud. Over the moon," Holden said as Leland agreed. When their father won the award for Best Actor, he dedicated a piece of his speech to his sons and said:

"It's been like I've been on a diving expedition to the bottom of the ocean, and the air on the line [has come from] some people in my life like my sons Holden and Leland and Griffin..."

Although Leland rarely makes public appearances with his dad, he made another exception when he attended the screening of his father's Oscar-winning film "The Whale" in New York City. Holden, who shares an interest in film like Brendan Fraser, also joined Leland for the screening. However, their older brother Griffin Fraser, who is autistic, was not in attendance.
