A member of the famous Estevez/Sheen family, Emilio Estevez has been out of the public spotlight for a while now. Although famous for his work in front of the camera, he also made several headlines due to his personal life despite marrying only one wife.

Emilio tied the knot with singer Paula Abdul after an earlier engagement with actress Demi Moore had been called off. After his divorce from Abdul, he became engaged again to Sonja Magdevski, but little is known about their relationship. Emilio shares two children with his ex-girlfriend, Carey Salley.

His troubles with romantic relationships contrast with the longevity of his parents, Martin and Janet Sheen's marriage. The couple has been married for over six decades. They are said to have maintained a close-knit family throughout and raised successful actors, including Charlie Sheen, born Carlos Estevez.

Emilio Was Engaged to Demi Moore, but They Never Married

It is not clear when and how Emilio first met Moore. The prevailing narrative states that they met on the set of the 1985 movie, "St. Elmo's Fire." However, in a 1985 interview with the Washington Post, the actor revealed that the two had known each other for a long time. Nevertheless, Moore commented about their acquaintance, saying:

"I liked all my costars and remained close to some of them today, but the person who stands out from this period is, of course, Emilio."

Despite Moore having finalized her divorce from Freddy Moore a few months earlier, she went into a relationship with Emilio. Before long, the couple was already thinking about getting married. Six months into their dating, they got engaged. However, despite the wedding preparations being at an advanced stage, they had to be called off.

Writing in "Inside Out," Moore's memoir published in 2019, the actress noted that the couple had already mailed out invitations for their special day when a friend told her that she had spotted Emilio with another woman in Los Angeles. Despite denying the allegations, their relationship had been rocked by another of Emilio's escapades.

Moore said this was not the first time Emilio had been accused of cheating; hence, the couple had developed trust issues. A few months before, the couple had broken up for two weeks, and during that small break, Emilio had reportedly slept with an "ex" girlfriend but denied that too before he was forced to confess as the "ex" got pregnant.

After the second infidelity rumors, the couple visited Moore's therapist, where Emilio gave a list of his priorities. The actress was relatively low on that list, and a stunned Moore took drastic measures. She decided to postpone the wedding indefinitely, and that marked the end of their romantic relationship.

Still, their split did not seem hostile as they continued to be friends. They made a red carpet appearance together at the premiere of Emilio's 1987 film, "Stakeout," where Moore met her future husband, Bruce Wills. In 2006, the couple worked together again on "Bobby," featuring Ashton Kutcher, then Moore's husband.

Emilio Got Engaged Again Much Later

Emilio became engaged again two decades after a failed engagement with Demi Moore and one failed marriage. The actor told People in 2006 that he and his girlfriend, Magdevski, became engaged after dating for about a year and a half.

However, when making the engagement revelation, the couple had not yet decided on a wedding date. They were busy getting the promotion of "Bobby" out of the way. Magdevski played a tiny part in the film and accompanied the actor and director to the Venice Film Festival that year.

Very little is known about Magdevski except that she is well-educated. She was awarded a Fulbright scholarship after excelling at the University of Michigan. She has written extensively for Malibu magazine. Her topics are centered on wine, which she has in common with Emilio.

Emilio Shares Two Children with One of His Exes

Emilio was in an on-and-off relationship with model Salley. The exact period for their several link-ups is not publicly known, but it was around the mid-1980s. Although the pair never married, their time together witnessed the birth of two children.

They had a son born on June 22, 1984. They named him Taylor. He followed his family's legacy by working in Hollywood. He has been credited with stunt work in several films, including "Ride Along," "Sons of Anarchy," and "Two and a Half Men," in which his uncle Charlie Sheen used to star in.

Little is known about Taylor's private life. He is believed to have resided in Spain after the conclusion of "The Way," a 2010 film starring his grandfather and directed by his father. He has also been employed as a Spanish dialogue coach in Spain. In 2019, it was announced that he would welcome a baby with his wife in June.

Emilio and Salley's second child is their daughter, Paloma. She was born on February 15, 1986. She is also involved in the entertainment business as a musician. After studying at the Musician's Institute, she became a drummer and opened for Drowning Pool and Buckberry.

Speaking to Tom Tom Magazine in 2012, Paloma said that she found much inspiration from John Bonham, a member of the rock band, Led Zeppelin. She says she modeled her playing after him and always feels honored when someone says they complimented her, saying she plays like Bonham.

Emilio Was Also a Married Man but Only for 2 Years

Emilio met musician Abdul while she was in a relationship with actor and musician John Stamos. Emilio is said to have called her to convey his appreciation for the multi-hyphenate and her work. From then, the pair occasionally talked on the phone until Abdul visited New York City for a tour in 1991.

In New York, she was checked into The Plaza, where, coincidentally or not, Emilio was also staying. The actor suggested that they go for dinner. Abdul recalled that he would send flowers to every city she went to. The pair would have phone conversations and visit every few weekends.

Six months passed before Emilio decided to take the relationship to the next level. He got down on one knee and asked Abdul for her hand in marriage when she came to see him in Minneapolis, where he was shooting "The Mighty Ducks." The couple had a private court wedding ceremony in Santa Monica in April 1992.

Unfortunately, their marriage lasted only two years before they called it quits. Abdul filed for divorce in 1994. She said, "It's with tremendous reluctance and great sadness that I've taken this action. "I have great affection and both personal and professional respect for Emilio."

The divorce seemed cordial, with both expressing great love for each other even during their separation. When divorcing, there were rumors that the split resulted from Emilio's extramarital affairs. However, the actor later claimed that it was because she wanted kids, and he did not want to add to the two he already had.

Emilio Is Not Married Now & Grew up in a Home with Happily Married Parents

Emilio's parents, Martin and Janet, have been married since December 23, 1961, making this year their 62nd as husband and wife. The couple had four children together, three boys, Charlie, Ramon Estevez and Emilio, and one girl, Renee.

When the kids were younger, the family would travel together to Martin's movie sets. Emilio said, "My parents knew that if the family was to stay together, we had to stay together.

The Estevez family is said to have maintained that into their grown-up years. Emilio Estevez noted that he mainly resides in Los Angeles because that is where his parents and siblings are.

In her book, Moore wrote that one of the reasons she fell in love with Emilio was his closeness to his family. She explained that the family would gather at the family home every weekend to discuss politics. Nevertheless, Emilio appears to be single these days.
