A-list director and actor Kevin Costner became a dad for the seventh time when he welcomed his youngest daughter, Grace Avery Costner. The 12-year-old, born in her father's second marriage, hails from a blended family of entertainers.

As the youngest of seven siblings, Grace Avery Costner has rarely graced the spotlight with her famed parents, Kevin Costner and Christine Baumgartner. Kevin and Christine lived in marital bliss for nearly two decades, but unfortunately, their love story has seen its end.

News recently broke that Grace's mother filed for divorce from her dad earlier this month, citing irreconcilable differences. At this time, the reason for their separation remains unknown; however, Christine requested joint custody of Grace and her two older brothers.

Kevin seconded the request in his response filing. The news shocked many as Kevin often spoke lovingly of his wife of 18 years and his children. He once hinted at some initial dissonance between his first set of children and his second but said they all eventually "embraced each other."

Grace's parents announced her impending arrival in March 2010. That year in June, she was born. The youngster weighed seven pounds and eleven ounces and measured 21 inches in height as an infant. She mostly stayed out of the public eye, but her mom and dad started taking her to public events as she grew older.

When she was four, she attended the World Premiere of "McFarland, USA" alongside her two older siblings and her parents. Grace looked adorable in a black textured dress with white stockings and shoes. In August 2019, she posed on the red carpet once more at the premiere of the film "The Art of Racing in the Rain."

Then in December 2022, paparazzi photographers caught sight of Grace walking with her dad and brother following a shopping trip in Santa Barbara, California. The 12-year-old, nearly her dad's height, sported dark camouflage tights with a dark gray zip-up hoodie and a light blue top.

Grace Avery Costner Has a Big Family

Grace's mother worked as a model in the 1980s but later became an entrepreneur. The private mom of three graduated from California State University with a Business degree. She's also a handbag designer, and her work was once featured on "Desperate Housewives."

Grace's dad is best known for his roles in "Dances with Wolves," opposite Mary McDonnell, "The Postman," "Hidden Figures," alongside Octavia Spencer and Taraji P. Henson, and most recently "Yellowstone," with Kelsey Asbille and Cole Hauser.

Grace's grandparents, Sharon and Bill Costner, also dabbled in acting but primarily worked in welfare and electric line servicing respectively. Her eldest siblings are Annie Costner, Lily Costner, Joe Costner, and Liam Costner. The former three were born in her dad's first marriage to Cindy Silva.

Kevin then found love with Bridget Rooney, and she gave birth to their son Liam. Following their separation, he moved on with Christina, who made it clear that children were in the cards for her. The two married in 2004 and first welcomed Cayden Wyatt Costner in 2007. Hayes followed in 2009, with Grace completing the family in 2010.

Kevin revealed this dynamic with E! News in 2015, confirming that Grace was becoming a daddy's girl, as he shared, "She's becoming that right now, and that's usually because her mommy starts to say no to her. I don't say yes all the time. But for a while, if you want that real good attention, you have to say yes a little bit more."

That year, Kevin also spoke about his ever-expanding love for all his kids and how gravely he took the responsibility of modeling the right behaviors for them. And despite having children born generations apart, with the older set initially worrying if Kevin cared more about the younger one, he has assured them all that they have his love.
