There are many movies like "The Blind Side" that are based on a true story, but few have won an Oscar, let alone a nomination. "The Blind Side" movie, which tells the story of Michael Oher, inspired many people by how he rose from grass to grace with the help of a good Samaritan.

The biopic, "The Blind Side," is an Oscar-Award-winning movie that tells the story of the legendary Michael Oher, a former football offensive tackle who played in the NFL for eight seasons.

The movie is based on the true story of Sean Tuohy and Leigh Anne Tuohy, a white family who adopts a homeless African-American teenage boy Michael Oher, played by Quinton Aaron.

Oher had a troubled childhood, growing up in a dysfunctional family, he didn't know who his father was, and his mother was a drug addict. But his life took a different turn when he met the Tuohy family.

While Oher has little formal education, the Tuohys helped him learn by giving him all the necessary resources, including hiring a private tutor. When Leigh, played by Sandra Bullock, realized Oher was passionate about football, she helped him build a successful career.

The Oscar-Award-Winning film, rated 7.6/10 on IMDb, received a great reception as it showcased how friendship can change someone's life. As a result, fans of the film became eager to know if there were other inspirational movies like "The Blind Side."

Coach Carter (2005)

This award-winning movie is based on the true story of Ken Carter, who gets a job as a basketball coach at his old high school, which is located in a poor area of Richmond, California. Carter is committed to ensuring his student-athletes succeed, not just in sports but also in academics.

Coach Carter, played by Samuel L. Jackson, suspends his undefeated team because of poor academic performance. Jackson's notable performance in the movie saw him win Black Movie Award for Outstanding Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role.

"Coach Carter" is one of the movies like "The Blind Side," which shows powerful acting while simultaneously giving viewers an uplifting and inspiring feeling. While the film was released in 2005, it's still among the best basketball movies.

So she hires Lionel Logue, played by Geoffrey Rush, an Australian speech therapist, to help him overcome his stammer. As Logue uses his skills and expertise to teach the monarch how to speak confidently, the two form a fantastic friendship due to their interaction.

This drama sports movie tells the story of Jack Cunningham, played by Ben Affleck, a construction worker suffering from an alcohol addiction problem.

Through hard work, dedication, and Logue's support, Albert learns how to speak confidently, and in the long run, he delivers an iconic speech heard worldwide. The movie also showcases how a life-changing moment resulted from the remarkable friendship between the King and Logue.

Instant Family (2018)

This comedy-drama film sees Pete, played by Mark Wahlberg, and Ellie, played by Rose Byrne, star as a married couple who want to start a family. After exploring different options, they consider adopting three siblings; six-year-old Lita, played by Julianna Gamiz, 10-year-old Juan, played by Gustavo Escobar; and 15-year-old Lizzie, played by actress and singer Isabela Merced.

The film, rated 7.3/10 on IMDb, showcases how adoption positively changes the lives of parents and children. It was inspired by director Sean Anders' experience of adopting three siblings.

This biography comedy drama film is similar to "The Blind Side." While "Blind Side" focuses on a mother-son story on the football field, "The Longshots" tells the story of an uncle coaching his niece on the football field.

The movie focuses on the true story of Jasmine Plummer, played by Keke Palmer, who became the first female quarterback to play for Pop Warner's football team. In the movie, Ice Cube plays Curtis Plummer, Jasmine's uncle, who coaches her football team.

This drama sports movie tells the story of Jack Cunningham(Ben Affleck), a construction worker suffering from an alcohol addiction problem. His addiction ends up costing him his marriage and career.

Like "The Blind Side," this movie shows how Affleck engages the audience with his notable performance showcasing that everybody deserves a second chance.
