Does Shannon Sharpe have a wife? Although the former NFL tight end has never made it down the aisle, he has welcomed three children. Now, he is looking for someone who loves him as much as he loves football.

After making a name for himself as one of the best tight ends the NFL has ever seen, Shannon Sharpe became a fan-favorite on "Skip and Shannon: Undisputed," a sports and entertainment talk show that co-starred Skip Bayless. However, his road to success was not easy, as he revealed that his devotion to his career meant his family, children, and girlfriends came second.

Although Shannon Sharpe doesn't have a wife, since retiring from football and facing rumors of a "Skip and Shannon: Undisputed" exit, he admitted to looking for the right person on his popular podcast "Club Shay Shay."

Sharpe was rumored to be engaged to Katy Castillo nee Kellner, a fitness and nutrition coach, in 2016. However, the couple later parted ways. While it is unclear what led to their separation, Sharpe revealed:

"I would have loved to have gotten married earlier in my career, but my career was the most important thing... I was a terrible father. I probably was a terrible brother, a terrible son. I definitely was a terrible boyfriend."

Sharpe's alleged ex-fiancée has since found love again with a police officer. Castillo documented her July 11, 2021, wedding on Instagram and later shared more pictures from her special day. The newlyweds were also joined by their son at their wedding.

Shannon Sharpe Has Had Legal Drama with the Mothers of His Children

Over the years, Sharpe has welcomed three children from different relationships. However, past legal disputes proved that the former football player has not always been on good terms with the mothers of his children.

In 2004, he faced misdemeanor simple battery charges for removing the mother of one of his children from his home. According to reports, the woman came to fetch her son when Sharpe asked her twice to leave his home. Sharpe's lawyer continued:

"Then Mr. Sharpe very appropriately and lawfully simply picked her up and gently put her outside of his home."

A few years later, in 2010, Sharpe found himself in legal drama again when another mother of one of his children, Michele Bundy, was granted a temporary restraining order against him. However, Bundy later voluntarily dismissed the protection order.

Although Sharpe has had a rocky relationship with the mothers of his children and confessed to being a "terrible" father during his professional career, he proved he and his oldest daughter Kayla are on better terms after sharing a snap of the daddy/daughter duo celebrating Father's Day together in 2020.

In 2016, Kayla and her two half-siblings were on their father's mind when the NFL Hall of Famer found out he had prostate cancer following a "routine" screening and decided not to tell his mother or children as he did not want to worry his family. "Only four people knew at the time," Sharpe revealed. The list of people who knew included his girlfriend at the time.

Shannon Sharpe Is Open to Finding a Wife Who Is the Right Person

During an interview, Sharpe candidly opened up about his love life and revealed that despite all his success and wealth, he had no one to share it with.

And although his guest, former professional wide receiver Chad Johnson shared that many wealthy men worried about attracting women who only cared about money, Sharpe revealed that he did not mind what his special someone brought to the table. Sharpe joked:

"I want someone to bring something to the picnic besides your appetite. I don't care if it's a fork, I don't care if it's napkins,... but bring something."

Long before he spoke about what he expected from a woman, he tweeted in part: "I want Nicole Murphy," in August 2017. His tweet was aimed at Nicole Murphy, Eddie Murphy's ex-wife, and was followed by a tweet that revealed how he would enter her DMs.

In November 2017, Shannon Sharpe and Nicole Murhpy teased at a possible romance as they had their arms around each other while posing for the camera. "Those that know won't tell. Those that tell won't know," Sharpe captioned the post.
