Robin Roberts Shares Rare Couple Snap with Longtime Partner Amber on Their ‘Special Date Night’

Robin Roberts and her partner Amber Laign served relaxed glamor on their night out on Sunday, which the anchor shared on social media.

"Special date night with Sweet Amber," Robin Roberts posted with a photo from the back of a car on Sunday, July 2, 2023. "Wishing all a fun, safe holiday weekend."

The "Turning the Tables" host did not share the particular of their outing, but her sparkly baby blue blazer gave points to someplace dressier than a picnic in the park. Her "Sweet Amber" smiled beside her, wearing a dusty pink strappy top.

Robin Roberts and Amber Laign Have Taken Turns Being the Other's Caregivers

Roberts dedicated her 'Thankful Thursday' message in February 2022 to sharing Laing's breast cancer diagnosis. The host explained that she would be absent from "Good Morning America" from time to time as Laign undergoes chemotherapy. She said:

"It's my turn now to be there for her, as she was for me."

The veteran "GMA" host met Laign, a businesswoman and massage therapist, on a July 2005 blind date. Robin Roberts went public with their relationship and her sexuality through a December 29, 2013, Facebook post.

She thanked her "long-time girlfriend Amber" for her support during her medical issues. That year, the TV personality had been diagnosed with a rare blood disease for which she underwent a bone marrow transplant from her sister.

Laign went on "GMA" in September 2017 to open up about being her partner's caregiver during recovery. She advised caregivers to prioritize self-care. Early in their relationship, Roberts had undergone chemotherapy for her battle with breast cancer.

Robin Roberts Says 'Yes' to a Sacred Institution

In January, the couple, who have been together for nearly two decades, announced their intent to marry later this year. Roberts shared a clip on social media of an interview between her and author Gabby Bernstein, in which she admitted:

"I'm hesitating because I haven't said it out loud yet... I'm saying 'yes' to marriage."

Tennis icon Billie Jean King shared her congratulations, and Loni Love offered to be their flower girl on social media. Robin Roberts and Amber Laign had discussed getting married before, but they put it off when the businesswoman fell ill.

Amber Laign completed her radiation treatment in mid-2022. Last month the engaged pair went to see Taylor Swift in concert, followed by fun in the sun with friends in Turks And Caicos.
