On July 4, 2023, Prince Harry, 38, celebrated the United State's (US) Independence Day by attending a parade with his youngest child and only daughter, Lilibet, two. The father-daughter pair were seen among other people near their Montecito, California, home, with the Duke of Sussex holding his child aloft for a better view.

The royal wore a green long-sleeved crew shirt with blue jeans, mirrored sunglasses, and a baseball cap. His daughter was dressed in a blue floral dress, red Mary Jane shoes, and white knee-high socks, with her red hair in two pigtails tied by navy ribbons.

It's believed the sighting was the first time Lilibet was seen in public. Her red and blue colors during their outing were considered patriotic to the country's memorable holiday, but her shoes were seen as a specific nod to her father. Lilibet's shoes looked like the ones Harry wore in the mid-1980s as a child.

The royal's wife, Duchess Meghan, 41, was also seen and photographed at the parade while she was tasked with looking after their older child, son Archie, 4.

The day celebrating America's independence from Britain's rule happened on the same day that Harry's father, King Charles III, attended his second Coronation ceremony in Edinburgh, United Kingdom (UK). Instead of attending the coronation, the royal seemed to be cementing his ties to the US against those of his motherland.

Fans who saw what Lilibet looked like now at the Montecito Association's Village Road Show couldn't help but comment on her appearance. One person said Meghan's genes weren't even trying because Archie was "Prince Harry 2.0," while Lilibet was "Princess Diana 2.0."

The fan noted how the only thing the Duchess of Sussex's children had of hers was Archie's curly hair and brown eyes. Someone else uploaded a photo of the children's late grandmother and Harry's mother, Princess Diana, and figured Lilibet had said "yes" to being the People's Princess's granddaughter.

The Twitter user felt the toddler had the same hair as her late grandmother. Another person who replied to someone else's Twitter post that showed Harry and Lilibet at the parade and Diana with her siblings noted how the late princess and her Spencer family matched with the Duke of Sussex.

The fan shared how Harry not only had the same heart as his late mother but his mixed-race children were all "redheads like her." They felt God was in the details of everything that had to do with Diana and her son, while the original poster of the two images wrote:

"The way those Spencer genes won't give Meghan's an inch."

Another person who commented on Harry and his daughter's picture from the parade said, "Princess Lilibet is all Spencer."

In 2022, during the Diana Award ceremony, Meghan's husband revealed that he saw his mother's legacy when he looked at his children daily. The award was named after his mother for her incredible charity work before dying in a car crash in 1997.

Harry also noted how pleased he was that his offspring had spent time with his late grandmother...

Although Harry failed to attend his father's second coronation, he had no ill will against his royal family.

Does Harry Want His Children to Have a Relationship with His Royal Family?

When King Charles III became monarch, he gave Harry's children the titles of prince and princess, which was reflected on the royal family's website in March 2023.

But away from the titles, Harry, in his memoir, "Spare," revealed how he hoped his children would have a significant relationship with the rest of the royal family. He wanted nothing more than for his children to have relationships with his family.

In January 2023, Meghan's husband elaborated further on that wish, explaining how he'd mentioned that he "wanted a family, not an institution."

He revealed that some of his family had already bonded with his children, which brought him joy. Harry also noted how pleased he was that his offspring had spent time with his late grandmother, Queen Elizabeth, before her death in 2022 and would cherish all their memories forever, especially those where she got to be with his children.
