Open to settling down, Boyega shared that his dating preferences were limited. "I only date Black," he said. On top of that, the actor looked for someone whose chemistry, personality, and goals aligned with his.

"Is there a synergy? Can I help you? Can you help me? I'm very disciplined in the type of women I speak to. They don't want you in their business," Boyega shared.

"Was I supposed to know that Letitia Wright and John Boyega are dating because this is legit brand new information for me and it makes me super happy," a third fan typed.

However, in 2020, Boyega put all romance rumors between him and Wright to rest when he revealed that the two actors had been good friends for a decade after growing up in England and attending London's Identity School of Acting together.

"Classes weren't enough time with each other. I remember speaking at McDonald's about a lot of things. It was like a motivational session after each class," Boyega said.
