Clairo initially did cover songs; the most notable was her cover from the band Maroon 5, led by Adam Levine. She also uploaded her original songs on platforms like Bandcamp and SoundCloud.
Her life took a significant turn when she started uploading her songs to her YouTube channel. Unexpectedly, one of her songs, "Pretty Girl," went viral, which led her to become a recording artist with Chance the Rapper as her manager.
Apart from her viral track, she has released several songs. She has two albums: "Immunity" in 2019 and "Sling" in 2021. Additionally, she has a single "Bubble Gum" and a featured one called "Glue Song."

Clairo's Music Intrigues Fans, Prompting Speculation If She Is Gay or Bisexual
Amid Clairo's musical success, one of her songs, "B.O.M.D" (which stands for "Boy of My Dreams"), caught the attention of fans because it subtly hinted at her sexuality. As a result, fans wondered if she was gay.
The speculation about her sexuality gained even more traction in 2018 when she posted on Twitter about the track, suggesting that the song could also be interpreted as "G.O.M.D."
Clairo's tweet left some uncertainty about whether it was her way of coming out, but her fans believed that she had come out as bisexual. Further fueling the rumor was her releasing another song, "Sofia," in 2019.
In the track, Clairo delved into her sexuality and relationship with another woman. The inspiration behind the song comes from her admiration for older women, including her celebrity crushes Sofia Coppola and Sofia Vergara.
Even though her fans labeled her bisexual and released a song inspired by her female celebrity crushes, Clairo remains nonchalant about her sexual orientation. She seems to be hesitant about adopting any particular labels for her sexuality.
However, in a 2019 interview, she did share some glimpses into her sexual orientation, though she chose not to reveal too much. She said:
"I'm still not really sure what my sexuality is, but I do know that it's not straight."
Clairo also revealed in a 2021 interview that she doesn't often discuss her sexuality, as she does not want to take up "tons of space" in the community. She also emphasized that her experience is still important and feels others may articulate it better, with more grace and understanding than she does.
Clairo Prioritizes Her Music Career over Love Life
Clairo perseveres in her career as she continues to explore her sexuality. Her Instagram profile currently boasts over 3.6 million followers, where she shares updates about a few glimpses of her personal life, music tours, and merchandise.
The young musician's page brims with photos of herself playing instruments, enjoying the company of friends, and working with music collaborators. She also shares snapshots from her childhood and charming pictures of her dog.
Clairo is among the many celebrities entangled in a web of rumors about her sexuality perpetuated by fans. Notable stars who allegedly sparked gay rumors are Maya Hawke, Sebastian Croft, and Sasha Calle.
