Beyoncé and her husband, Jay-Z, are one of the most famous couples in the world. However, the pair managed to keep their romance low-key in the beginning stages of their relationship, even when they wed.

The two first met in 2000 but did not start dating until 2001. There is little information about the duo's first meeting, including details of their relationship when they began dating. But Beyoncé once revealed she and Jay-Z crossed paths when she was 18.

They became friends and constantly communicated via phone calls. After more than a year of doing so, they decided to test the waters by pursuing a romantic relationship.

The Hollywood A-listers shocked fans when they secretly tied the knot in 2008. The duo did not tell fans they were engaged to be married.

They were spotted collecting a marriage license in New York in April 2008, and it was later revealed that the couple had exchanged wedding vows on April 4, 2008.

Several years later, the multi-Grammy Award-winning singer and rapper welcomed their first child, daughter Blue Ivy, in New York City on January 7, 2012.

The first-time parents introduced their bundle of joy the following month via a series of pictures. Blue has started to follow in her parents' footsteps. At two days old, her vocals were featured on her father's song, "Glory."

In 2020, the youngster was also featured in her mother's song, "Brown Skin Girl." Three years later, she stepped out for the opening night of her mom's Renaissance World Tour in May 2023, which kicked off in Stockholm, Sweden.

How Did Beyoncé 'Unexpectedly' Become Mom of Twins?

Years after welcoming her eldest child, Blue Ivy, Beyoncé fell pregnant with twins. "I was supposed to do Coachella the year prior but I got pregnant unexpectedly, she recounted in her April 2019 Netflix documentary film, "Homecoming."

Beyoncé further admitted, her pregnancy with her twins Sir and Rumi was not easy. The mother of three spoke candidly about her "extremely difficult pregnancy" with her two youngest kids.

Beyoncé revealed she developed preeclampsia during her pregnancy, which strained her body. In an August 2018 interview, the businesswoman disclosed her spouse Jay-Z was a trooper amid her health struggles:

"My health and my babies' health were in danger, so I had an emergency C-section. We spent many weeks in the NICU. My husband was a soldier and such as strong support system for me."

She said she is proud to have seen how strong her husband was and how he evolved as an individual, a dad, and a friend. As for her, all she did amid the ordeal was, fight for survival.

The doting mom shared she now feels strongly connected to other women who have gone through the same journey in motherhood. Beyoncé admitted that something changed after she underwent a C-section, adding it was a "major surgery."

Beyoncé explained that some of her organs were shifted for a short while and that, in some instances, they are temporarily removed altogether during delivery. She said she needed time to "heal" and "recover" from the experience.

The award-winning star first discovered that she was expecting in late 2016. At the time, the global superstar was set to headline the 2017 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival but had to postpone.

Beyoncé's twins, son Sir and daughter Rumi arrived into the world in June 2017. Their arrival came after their mother suffered multiple pregnancy losses. "[…] Having miscarriages taught me that I had to mother myself before I could be a mother to someone else," Beyoncé once revealed.

She noted that finding out she was having twins was a "surprise." In addition, unlike their older sister, Blue Ivy, Sir and Rumi are rarely seen on public outings.

How Does Beyoncé's Twin Daughter Look Like at 6?

Despite being scarce in the public eye, Beyoncé's daughter Rumi recently appeared in a rare public photo posted by Madonna on her Instagram Stories. The pop singer had taken her three daughters, Mercy and twins Stella and Estere, to see Beyoncé performing live in concert that night.

While backstage at the event, Madonna gathered her kids to pose for a picture with the "Single Ladies" hitmaker and her daughter Rumi, 6, named after a 13th-century Persian poet.

Beyoncé, in her dressing gown with full hair and makeup, smiled while posing for the photo behind her child in the backstage snapshot. She later paid tribute to Madonna during the concert, blasting the words: "Queen MOTHER MADONNA" in lights onstage. The "Material Girl" singer shared the homage to her Instagram Stories and praised Beyoncé, too, writing:

"Thank you, Queen B, for your Magnificent show! My Daughters were enthralled! We Love you!"

Madonna adopted her four young kids—Estere, Stella, Mercy, and son David— from Malawi. She welcomed her first child, daughter Lourdes in 1996 with her former boyfriend, Carlos Leon, a fitness trainer. Lourdes has since followed her famous mom's footsteps as a singer. Madonna is also a mom to son Rocco Ritchie, whom she welcomed with her ex-husband, English filmmaker Guy Ritchie.

Madonna's appearance at her fellow music star's concert came a month after suffering a health scare. The singer ended up in the ICU for several days after contracting a "serious bacterial infection," said her manager. The last week of July marked one month since she was discharged from the hospital, which allowed her to "reflect" on what had occurred.

Dubbed the "Queen of Pop," Madonna expressed being showered with love from her family and friends was healing for her. She added that as a parent, she tends to get lost while tending to her children's needs most of the time, but that once she hit rock bottom health-wise, they were, in turn, there for her. "I saw a side to them I had never seen before. It made all the difference," she penned.
