Camelia Kath Is Kiefer Sutherland’s 1st Wife – All We Know about Her

Camelia Kath married Kiefer Sutherland, who was 12 years her junior. Their marriage lasted three years until the two eventually filed for divorce. Nevertheless, they remained close to both their daughters.

Born on September 22, 1953, in Puerto Rico, Camelia Kath is known for her marriages to Terry Kath and Kiefer Sutherland, whom she eventually divorced.

Like her spouse, Camelia was also an entertainer, working in front and behind the camera in the '80s and '90s. Throughout the '80s, Camelia made appearances in "Terror on Tour," "Fake-Out," "Buchanan High," and "The Killing Time."

In 1999, she was credited as a writer and an executive assistant in the television series "The Nanny." Since then, Camelia no longer had credits in on-screen productions.

Camelia Kath's First Husband Was Terry Kath

Camelia's first husband was Chicago frontman and guitarist Terry Kath. They share a daughter, Michelle, and lived in Malibu. Sadly, when Michelle was only two, her father died after accidentally shooting himself while handling a gun.

After his passing, Michelle would receive letters from her father's fans, sharing their encounters with Terry or the meaningful messages his music gave them. "No matter what the letters says, it always ends with a wonderful sentiment about my father," she said. Despite losing her father, Michelle grew up with another father figure.

Camelia Kath Was Married to Kiefer Sutherland for Three Years

In 1987, Camelia married Donald Sutherland's son, Kiefer Sutherland, with whom she shares a daughter, Sarah. Kiefer also became a stepfather to Camelia's daughter with Terry. Being 12 years his senior, Camelia became the authority figure in their home. The "Designated Survivor" star said:

"She deals with things in a very different way than I do. She just went away for four days, and this is one of the first times I've been allowed to be with the baby alone."

Admittedly, the couple sought help from a nanny. Still, Camelia enjoys being a hands-on mother. Unfortunately, after three years of marriage, Kiefer and Camelia decided to end their relationship and share custody of their kids.

Camelia Kath Is a Doting Mother and Grandmother

Camelia's firstborn, Michelle, joined the entertainment industry and made a documentary about her parents titled "The Terry Kath Experience." The production also had Michelle's voiceover and snippets of her dad's performances.

In the early 2000s, Camelia became a grandmother to Adam Kiefer Sinclair, Michelle's son. Camelia's grandson was an adorable and active baby who often fell and got cuts. Nevertheless, he brought happiness into her life.

Meanwhile, Camelia's other daughter, Sarah Sutherland, followed in her dad's footsteps and became an actress. She is known for her roles on "Veep" and "Like a House on Fire."

Camelia's daughter has been in a relationship with musician Jeff Lynne and has publicly appeared with the star on a few occasions. Unfortunately, the length of their relationship and whether they are still together remains unknown.

In September 2016, Jeff and Camelia were spotted catching a flight out of LAX, surrounded by fans asking for autographs and pictures. They were also photographed at the Myeloma Foundation in 2012, smiling for the cameras.
