Jimmy Kimmel's son turned one and he had many celebrity friends come to celebrate the day with him. As AmoMama gathers this report from The Daily Mail, we celebrate the day with the family as little Billy has fought for his life since day one.

A newly single Jennifer Aniston put on a perky display as she headed to Jimmy Kimmel’s son’s first birthday. She and ex-husband Justin Theroux are friends of Kimmel, but of course only one of them could be there. Theroux sent his best to the family but was not present to celebrate with them.

A year ago when Kimmel’s son Billy was born, he went through a hard time health wise and even a draining surgery for a child his age. Kimmel took to Instagram and Twitter to urge his millions of fans to register to vote so their voices could be heard when they demanded better health care bills in the future.

The show host made the same appeal when celebrating his ‘tough’ son’s first birthday. 'A yr ago today, God gave us this tough little boy. Today, we thank the nurses & doctors at @CedarsSinai & @ChildrensLA who saved his life & those who shared thoughts & prayers. We cannot stay quiet. Please wish Billy happy birthday by REGISTERING TO VOTE! (sic)'

Kimmel went on to speak about this difficult time in his family’s life and the things that went on behind the scenes.

'There were secrets we kept from each other that we revealed only after the second surgery. The biggest one was that, I think subconsciously, we didn't want to get too close to the baby, because we didn't know what was going to happen... I don't know if that's right or wrong or common or uncommon.’

Kimmel said that his wife was happy to know that he felt the same. 'Oh, I'm so happy you said that because I was feeling that way too, and I didn't want to express it.' '

The father of four – two with ex-wife Gina and two with current wife – said Billy would go through one ore surgery late I his life. 'He'll have another surgery when he's around six or seven years old, but in the meantime, he's doing great.'

Happy birthday, tough guy! Talk to us in comments.
