Actor and stand-up comedian Kevin Smith revealed the secret to his weight loss

Kevin Smith, best known as the star of “Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back” revealed on Instagram that he has lost 43 pounds and is 7 pounds away from his ideal weight.

Smith suffered from a heart-attack in January 2018 and has since been advised by his doctor to lose at least 50 pounds.

Smith is following a diet created by scientist Ray Cronise, and he is also a Weight Watchers ambassador. The star admits that he is thinner than he has ever been since finishing high school.

According to his daughter, Harley Quinn Smith - named after the Batman villain - Smith is embracing a vegan lifestyle.

“Today, I am down a total of 43 pounds! Only 7 more pounds until I’ve shed the 50 my Doctor told me to lose following the heart attack!”

Smith has a heart-attack on the 25th of February 2018, after performing a stand-up comedy show at the Alex Theatre in Glendale, California.

Smith was rushed to the Glendale Adventist Medical Center, where doctors discovered that his heart-attack had been caused by a total blockage of the left anterior artery.

He was submitted to an emergency intervention to unblock his artery and advised by doctors to lose weight and embrace a healthier lifestyle.

At that time, Smith weighed over 210 pounds, and he started following the Cronise diet, which involves eating a single plant-based food with no added salt or fat for two weeks, then gradually adding additional foods.

Smith is committed to his new lifestyle and has declared that he is now a vegan, and plans to maintain his new slim body in peak condition.

Smith is married to journalist Jennifer Schwalbach Smith, whom he met while she was interviewing him for USA Today in 1998.
