Remember 'Destiny's Child' member LaTavia Roberson? Her daughter is all grown up & sings like mom
LaTavia Roberson, the singer and actress known as one of the members of the Destiny’s Child, took to Instagram to share a clip of her daughter briefly singing with her.
The clip was part of an ad for ALEX AND ANI, a jewelry brand which popularity has been quickly increasing. LaTavia and her daughter, Lyric Richard, appeared sitting in front of a Christmas tree while surrounded by ALEX AND ANI bags.
LaTavia grabbed one and took out a little box, to what and thrilled Lyric asked if it is from the previously mentioned company. When the singer opened the box, both of them gasp in excitement.
At the end of the video, LaTavia started singing “My True Love Gave to Me,” and Lyric finished saying “ALEX AND ANI.” As soon as the singer uploaded that clip, her followers took to the comment section to share their thoughts.
Most of them praised LaTavia for including her daughter in the project, while others admitted that Lyric was “adorable,” and that she was following in her mother’s footsteps already.
Lyric was born in August 2013 when her mother was in a relationship with producer Rodney Richards, also known as Don Vito. Sadly, the singer suffered the late-term pregnancy loss of a baby girl in June 2016, too.
HER LIFE AFTER DESTINY’S CHILD
In an interview the singer had with Billboard in 2017, she revealed that even though her career with Destiny’s Child was great, she dealt with substance abuse, molestation, and “a lot of sticky situations.”
“I learned from my mistakes. At the end of the day, are they really mistakes? I’ve had my daughter and, unfortunately, I’ve lost a daughter. I just like to do things that make me feel good, and I like to give back to the community,” added LaTavia.
HER REUNION WITH BEYONCÉ
It is not the first time in recent times that LaTavia has made headlines as she and Beyoncé got together for the first time after 18 years. The mother-of-one dropped by the “On The Run II” stop in Houston in September to show support to Beyoncé.
LaTavia shared the sweet moment on Instagram, saying it was such a good feeling being able to laugh and spend time with one of the most influential people in her life at one point.
"It was so wonderful sharing a laugh and spending time with my FRIEND of 30 yrs..... hadn’t seen Bey in 18 yrs. My mother @cheryl_lastrap is clearly tickled. The children are amazing ‘Everything IS Love,’” wrote LaTavia in the caption.
