Andy Cohen is in 'heaven', sharing precious photo of his newborn son Benjamin in a cute outfit
Andy Cohen is basking in the joys of fatherhood, and he can’t stop gushing about his newborn son on Instagram, melting fans’ hearts along the way.
The “Watch What Happens Live” host took to Instagram on Sunday to share a sweet snap of his 6-days-old baby boy. In the pic, little Bejanmin is seen rocking a Snoopy onesie while grasping his father’s finger with his entire baby fist.
“Heaven…,” Cohen simply captioned the pic.
Fans of the Bravo star immediately filled the comment section to congratulate him on his son and gush about the baby.
“Enjoy this bonding time! It really is heaven,” wrote one user. Another added, “Only a father can understand the true feeling of that reflex... Congrats again!” and a third one chimed in to say, “Between this picture and the fact that he is wearing Snoopy, I can't!!! Welcome home, Ben!!”
Cohen, 50, welcomed baby Benjamin on February 11 via surrogate and shared the news with fans by posting a black and white photo holding the newborn against his chest. The baby weighed 9 lbs 2 ounces and measured 20 inches. Cohen added in the caption:
“Benjamin Allen Cohen. He is named after my grandfather Ben Allen. I’m in love. And speechless. And eternally grateful to an incredible surrogate. And I’m a dad. Wow.”
The openly gay TV host first revealed he was expecting a baby via surrogate on a special episode of “Watch What Happens Live” last December, where he reunited some of the original cast members of the Real Housewives franchise he produces.
“Tonight, I want you to be the first to know that after many years of careful deliberation, a fair amount of prayers and the benefit of science — if all goes according to plan, in about six weeks time I’m going to become a father," Cohen said to the audience, with the support of Vicki Gunvalson, Ramona Singer, NeNe Leakes, Kyle Richards, and Teresa Giudice.
And continued:
“Family means everything to me and having one of my own is something that I have wanted in my heart for my entire life. And though it’s taken me longer than most to get there, I cannot wait for what I envision will be the most rewarding chapter yet.”
Baby Benjamin was born in Los Angeles, where Cohen also celebrated an epic baby shower with cast members from all of the “Real Housewives” locations, and recently flew to New York on his first trip aboard a private jet.
Andy shared an adorable pic from the airplane, holding the baby on a carrier and gushing about loving "the dad gear,” but some daddy-shamers were quick to slam the new-dad for taking a newborn on a flight.
However, it is clear that Cohen wouldn’t do anything to harm his child, and according to several celebrity friends, the seasoned TV host will be a great dad.
