Tamar Braxton claims she's going to buy house for her son after winning 'Celebrity Big Brother'
Tamar Braxton made history yesterday with her “Celebrity Big Brother” win, and she’s wasting no time revealing how she’ll be spending her $250,000 prize money.
The singer/reality star became the first ever black housemate to win the US version of the show, and in a clip from her big night, an overwhelmed Tamar could think of nothing else but her five-year-old son, Logan.
Immediately after coming out on stage with the runner-up, former NFL player Ricky Williams, Tamar was reunited with Logan, and the fierce hug she gave him was enough to convince anyone of the bond and love between mother and son.
During her appreciation speech, Tamar, 41, expressed gratitude to her friends, family, and fans, but it was her remark about Logan that has everyone getting emotional.
Fighting away tears and holding on tight to her son, Tamar said:
“Thank you, guys, for just being my lifelong friends. Thank you guys so much, I’m so grateful. Now I get to buy my baby a house.”
While Tamar was in the Big Brother house, Logan, who she shares with her estranged husband Vince Herbert, had sent a touching message to his mother.
“Mom, let me tell you something from the bottom of my heart,” said the little man. “I love you, I miss you, and I wish you win the competition. I love you very much.”
[Tamar] reportedly pleaded for the judge to sign off on their divorce.
The “Braxton Family Values” star emerged victorious at the Season 2 finale on Wednesday night, edging out fellow housemates Dina Lohan, Ricky Williams, Lolo Jones, and “Real Housewives Of Atlanta’s” Kandi Burruss.
When it was down to Tamar and Ricky, the former “The Real” host made quite an emotional last plea, recounting her recent personal troubles.
“I am a huge fan of this show. I played the game to the best of my ability,” she said. “I lost my job publicly in front of everybody. I lost my husband. . . And I almost lost my life.”
Tamar originally filed for divorce from her estranged husband in October 2017 and last September, she filed legal documents showing “proof of service” after the court warned that her case could be dismissed due to inactivity.
By October, the “Love & War” singer reportedly pleaded for the judge to sign off on their divorce after Vincent failed to respond to her divorce papers.
Despite Tamar’s shaky relationship with the father of her child, Logan’s wellbeing comes first. During an appearance on “The View” last year, she told the hosts they have a responsibility to raise Logan in “the most comfortable, amazing, loving, secure household,” which is why they don’t live together.
Vince, however, remains in his son’s life and was present last June when the entire family celebrated Logan’s birthday at Disneyland.
Now that his mom is planning to buy him a house, Logan should be one happy five-year-old at the moment.
