Michelle Obama Shares a Sweet Throwback Photo of Barack, Malia, and Sasha for Father's Day
Michelle Obama shares a never-before-seen throwback of her husband and daughters in celebration of Father's Day. The lovely candid pic appears to have been taken during their pre-White House days.
Michelle Obama knows that Barack Obama is worthy of being celebrated on Father’s Day for two basic reasons – their daughters. So this year, she thought it fitting to pay tribute to her husband by sharing a throwback of him in a candid moment with Malia and Sasha.
A RARE THROWBACK BEFORE THE WHITE HOUSE
“Pretty grateful for this guy,” Michelle wrote to caption an adorable photo of the former president sitting on the steps of their home with a much younger Sasha on his lap. He cradles her as he smiles to his other daughter, Malia, who sits next to him and beams at him with a look of wonder.
We’re guessing this photo was taken before the Obamas settled into the White House. Malia was 10 and Sasha 7 when they first stepped foot into the home of the Oval Office. The photo Michelle shared on Father’s Day showed they were much younger, unaware that their lives would soon change and that they would grow up under the scrutiny of the public eye.
Prom night for Malia meant having her security around, though her parents allowed her to ride with her date alone.
ON RAISING NORMAL KIDS UNDER THE SPOTLIGHT
Michelle and Barack have always prided themselves of their children who managed to stay clear of controversy while they attempted to give them a semblance of normalcy despite the setbacks of being presidential daughters.
“We had to parent by creating this cocoon of normalcy in a pretty crazy, abnormal world.”

Having a boyfriend also meant being constantly hounded by paparazzi, a problem Malia’s parents addressed when they sent an apology to her rumored boyfriend, Rory Farquharson for the situation he’s under by dating their daughter.
Meanwhile, Sasha, who recently graduated from high school also made headlines when she attended her senior prom. This is regardless of the fact that her parents are no longer the presidential couple. Michelle made sure to be around and see her off, despite her busy schedule. She and her husband also blended with other parents when they attended Sasha’s graduation.
"I am in awe of my children for the way they have managed this whole thing with poise and grace.”

PROUD OF HOW HER KIDS TURNED OUT
Michelle told Conan O’ Brien it was tough raising their girls under the public eye.
“We had to parent by creating this cocoon of normalcy in a pretty crazy, abnormal world,” she said.
She also said it was tough for them as parents who had to juggle themselves between the demands of their jobs and the school activities of their children. But their efforts paid off seeing how great their children turned out in spite of the compromises they’ve had to make.
"I am in awe of my children for the way they have managed this whole thing with poise and grace,” the former first lady said.
Meanwhile, Barack is equally proud of all his women, including his wife. On Mother’s Day, he shared a photo of the three of them and lauded Michelle for being the perfect role model for Malia and Sasha. It appears Michelle reciprocated on Father’s Day.
