Gabrielle Union Shares Colorful Pics with Friends from Her 'California Love'-Themed 47th Birthday Celebration
Gabrielle Union knows how to throw a party! The actress recently turned a year older and had a California Love-themed party to celebrate with family and friends.
Union, who could easily pass for a teenager, turned 47 on October 29 but threw her big party days earlier over the weekend. Photos from the bash show just how colorful and star-studded it was.

According to The Root, Union’s choice of a "California Love" party was a tribute to her family’s recent relocation of their primary residence to Los Angeles. And nailed it, she did.
This past year was probably one of Union’s best as she welcomed her first child, Kaavia, via surrogacy.
For her birthday outfit, the actress donned a replica of the Clovers cheerleading outfit from her cult classic film "Bring It On." Earlier on, Union had teased fans with a mommy-and-me version of the uniform that looked adorable on her 11-month-old daughter Kaavia James.

Union’s birthday had an abundance of family and celebrity friends who all came dressed as favorite West Coast entertainers. The birthday girl posed in one snapshot with her hubby retired NBA player Dwyane Wade, who looked dapper in his costume homage to the Oakland-founded Black Panthers.
"Truly #CaliforniaLove," Union captioned the picture. "Way to kick off my 1st LA birthday in years after relocating the antics to Miami. Job well done [Dwyane Wade]."
In another photo, the couple was surrounded by famous friends Jeannie Mai who came dressed as Kehlani, rapper Jeezy, Union’s rapper cousin Saweetie who twinned with the actress, and Quavo of the Migos group.

Another shot also featured prominent California talents Too Short and E-40 who performed at Union’s party, as did Saweetie. "Black-ish" star Tracee Ellis Ross was also at the party and nailed her DJ Quik look, complete with a drawn-on mustache.
Per Page Six, several guests at Union’s party came dressed as Snoop Dogg, including the West Coast hip-hop legend himself who posed for a shot with Ross.
Union later got reflective as she shared a picture of herself from the party and another throwback of the actress as a baby.
"This is 47!" she raved and went on to share "some nuggets" she’s "learned to embrace:"
"As long as I got a plate (full or not) I'm gonna try to make sure everybody eats. If the seat you are offering me at your [expletive] table means I can’t sleep at night, that's a hard pass for me. I'll go to my grave creating the world's biggest most inclusive table centering the voices, lives and best interests of our most marginalized peoples."
"My time with my family is priceless," Union continued in the lengthy caption. "Admit when you are wrong. And don’t offer terrible apologies that include 'I'm sorry IF...' Center your joy, peace, and grace."
This past year was probably one of Union’s best as she welcomed her first child, Kaavia, via surrogacy. The actress, who is a stepmom to Wade’s three sons from previous relationships, has been open about her fertility struggles and numerous miscarriages.
To celebrate Kaavia’s arrival, Union and Wade threw a lavish tailgate-themed party earlier this year, and as the tot’s first birthday approaches, we can’t wait to see what the couple will pull off this time.
In the meantime, here’s wishing the forever-young Gabrielle Union a happy birthday.
