Seasoned basketballer, Magic Johnson recently uploaded a shot that featured him between two women, his wife, Cookie and his mom, who was dressed to the nines.

Magic's charm sure came alive as he posed with an infectious smile. While holding his mother close to him, his wife stood by his side.

The basketballer's mother donned a purple dress along with violet-coloured shoes and the grandmama wasn't the only one that looked chic.

Her daughter-in-law, Cookie Johnson, rocked a light pink skirt and jacket paired with a white top and an animal print bag.

The veteran sports star posted the update to express his gratitude towards his mom's visit and give his fans a hint on how the family spent the day in church. He wrote:

"I'm so happy my mother is in town to visit me. My mom, Cookie and I enjoyed a powerful message...at church today."

He continued by testifying how much impact the church service had on him and admitting to subscribing to the message which would ultimately influence him all through the year.

While Magic has no problem bonding with the family and giving them shout outs on the 'gram, he also shares a good relationship with people outside his clan.

The basketball champ shared a unique friendship with the legendary Kobe Bryant of "Lakers" who recently passed a few days ago following a devastating helicopter crash.

The accident also claimed Kobe's teenage daughter's life, who had begun carving a niche for herself in the sports. It came as a big shock to Magic, who explained that his mood has been sober ever since he heard the news. He tweeted:

"As I write this post, my mind is racing. I've been crying all morning over this devastating news that Kobe and his young daughter Gigi, have passed away."

Magic posted a series of tweets to pay tribute to his deceased friend whom he also referred to as the "greatest Laker of all-time."

He backed up his post with images showing himself and Kobe as they smiled at the camera and hugged each other dearly. Magic concluded by assuring the family of the basketball legend, his continued support for them.
