Katie Holmes Shares Rare Throwback Photo with Her Mom Kathleen A Stothers on Mother’s Day
Katie Holmes shared an old picture to honor her mother during the Mother’s Day celebration on Sunday. The actress left a heartwarming note alongside the adorable photo.
In an Instagram post, the “Lucky Logan” actress, Katie Holmes, paid tribute to her mother, Kathleen Stother, in celebration of Mother’s Day on Sunday. The picture featured a younger Katie posing alongside her beautiful mom. While the toddler sported little pigtails and a cute outfit, Kathleen rocked a pair of jeans with a lovely top.

The mother-daughter duo appeared to be enjoying the outdoor atmosphere with Katie holding a pile of dirt in her hands and Stother sitting on the grass. While posting the photo, Holmes wrote an emotional tribute to her mom thanking her for teaching and loving her. The caption read:
“Thank you, mom, for teaching me so many things and for loving me ❤️ Happy Mother’s Day to all of the moms out there!!!!!!!”
The cute photo garnered reactions from fans and lovers of the actress who took to the post’s comment sections to join Katie in honoring her mother. One user who appeared to have met the older woman before wrote: “Happy Mother’s Day!!! Your mom is amazing. I’ve met her couple times. She’s so sweet.” Another fan sweetly added: “She looks like a great one,” while several others left their well wishes.
Asides from being an amazing mother to her daughter, Kathleen also doubles as a loving grandmother to Katie’s 14-year-old daughter, Suri Cruise. On top of that, the older woman has also been a support system for her daughter, even in her love life. Following Katie’s split from her ex-boyfriend, Jamie Foxx, last August, a source revealed to Closer Weekly that the “Mad Money” actress spent Christmas with her parents. The source said:
“There’s no need to worry about Katie having a lonely Christmas.”
The 41-year-old actress who first registered for modeling classes as a teenager landed her first leading role in the 1998 movie, “Disturbing Behaviour.” She went on to appear in films such as “Go,” “Pieces of April” and “The Gift.” In 2005, Holmes appeared in her biggest blockbuster “Batman Begins,“ which launched her into a successful acting career in Hollywood.
Kate Noelle Holmes was born on December 18, 1978, in Toledo, to Martin and Kathleen Holmes, Katie joined four older siblings — Holly, Nancy, Tamera, and Martin Jr. According to Katie, she was not only inspired by her mom, but all of her four siblings also served as an inspiration to her.
