Gladys Knight's Husband William McDowell Wishes Wife Happy 76th Birthday in a Sweet Tribute

Gladys Knight's husband of 19 years, William McDowell, penned a short but sweet message to her as the legendary singer celebrated her 76th birthday.

Legendary soul singer Gladys Knight was only seven-years-old when she won her first singing contest on "The Original Amateur Hour TV." She went on to lead Gladys Knight & the Pips before going solo.

Seven Grammy Awards and four husbands later, she still has a lot to celebrate. Recently, her husband, William McDowell, celebrated her birthday, he wrote, "Happy Birthday to my beautiful wife, G."

The picture William posted was from her star-studded birthday special when she turned 75-years-old. For the event, she arrived in an exquisitely gold embroidered dress.

According to Daily Mail, her guests for the evening included LaToya Jackson, Terry Crews, and newly married Catherine McPhee and David Foster.

Just like David, who had been previously married, Gladys finally found luck in love after three failed marriages when she met William. The couple has been married for 19 years and boasts a huge family.

It is reported that together they have 17 grandchildren and great ten grandchildren. In April they celebrated their wedding anniversary. In a tribute post, William teased, "19 years tomorrow! Take that haters!"

The songstress also took the opportunity to celebrate her special day with a cheerful and humble message as she thanked her fans, family, and friends for their birthday messages, she said:
