Here's How Charlie Wilson Celebrated His Hit Song 'Got' Reaching Its 3rd Week at Number 1
Charlie Wilson's song has been at number one for the third week and the star is celebrating the fantastic achievement with a large cake.
Charlie Wilson's hit single "Got" has been at the top of Billboard's Adult R&B airplay chart and has even broken a new record.
The star took to Instagram to celebrate the momentous occasion as the song entered its third week at the top of the charts.
The last song Wilson released that broke into the charts was his 2013 song "My Love Is All I Have," which peaked at number 13.
The R&B star's best achievement until this moment was his featured role in the 2003 Snoop Dogg hit "Beautiful," which reached No. 3, so finally getting to the top needs to be celebrated. Wilson shared a photo writing:
"#OneIGot is #1 for the 3rd week in a row! ?Celebrating this sweet milestone thanks to y’all! ??."
In the post, Wilson brandished a giant orange congratulatory cake with his photo printed onto the icing and his fans were right there celebrating with him.
The star managed to get over 13,000 likes and hundreds of supportive comments, including one calling him one of the best singers out there.
Wilson revealed that it was about listening to his inner "young spirit."
Earlier this year, Wilson performed his hit song on "The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon." The song, which was co-written and produced by Bruno Mars, also features the younger singer on the backing vocals.
When it comes to what keeps him going, Wilson revealed that it was about listening to his inner "young spirit," which likes to play with music. He added:
"He keeps me connected to the streets and the younger generation of talents who keep calling me to do duets, hooks or verses—which also keeps me in a happy place.”

Before making it as a solo artist, Wilson was part of the group The Gap Band with his brothers Ronnie and Robert, finding their most success between 1979-1990.
The star's latest number one puts him in the same league as Maxwell and R. Kelly who have the same amount of leaders by any male act in 26 years.
In addition to collaborations with Snoop Dogg, Wilson has also worked with Kanye West for his 2013 single "Bound 2."
Wilson has said that he wants to make a full album and has thought about taking it back to his former group's electronic funk style.
