Brad Pitt Changed Angelina Jolie's Mind about Having Biological Kids — She Was Shocked by Her 2nd Pregnancy
Angelina Jolie was uninterested in having biological kids early on in her life, but after she met Brad Pitt, everything changed. She ended up getting pregnant and welcoming three biological kids.
Brad Pitt met Angelina Jolie on the set of "Mr. & Mrs. Smith" — a movie that saw them play a husband and wife hired to kill each other. The pair had to spend a lot of time together during filming, and the chemistry between them was undeniable even though Pitt was married to actress Jennifer Aniston at the time.
By the time filming ended and speculations on what was happening between Pitt and Jolie were at an all-time high, the actor's marriage to Aniston was virtually over. Not long after, Aniston filed for divorce, giving Pitt the freedom to court Jolie.

In a 2006 interview, Jolie revealed that it all started with a "strange friendship and partnership." As they continued to spend time together on set, she looked forward to going to work.
She also reaffirmed that they did not explore what they had until the filming of the movie was wrapped up, and they realized they meant more to one another. At the time, the "Maleficent" actress was already a mother to her son Maddox.
When they started dating, she also adopted a daughter named Zahara. Pitt would later adopt the two kids, after which the couple changed their last names to Jolie–Pitt. It took some time to convince Jolie to have kids biologically, but Pitt was able to change her mind, and he did it without even trying.
HOW HE CHANGED HER MIND

Early in her life, Jolie had decided she would never give birth naturally. As far as she was concerned, it was a bad idea, and she said as much to Pitt.
The bridge between Pitt and the boys may never be fixed.
According to her, the actor initially mentioned having biological kids, but she only talked about adopting kids. After hearing how she felt about having kids naturally, he stopped talking about it, and that acceptance melted her resistance.

He seemed to like her adopted kids just fine, and the thought brought her so much peace she found herself warming up to having his kids. She said:
"I suppose I just looked at him and loved him and just felt open to [getting pregnant]. I suddenly wanted to. It's one of those things you can't explain."
It was a decision Jolie has never regretted, and the whole experience is one the actress has claimed she would not trade for anything in the world. The pair welcomed their first biological child Shiloh Jolie–Pitt in May 2006, and according to their obstetrician, Pitt was with her in the delivery room the whole time.

When she got pregnant a second time, Jolie had an interview that saw her describe how she felt about carrying another child. During the interview, she stated that she loved being pregnant because it made her feel like a real woman. She said:
"It makes me feel like a woman. It makes me feel that all the things about my body are suddenly there for a reason."
Jolie also said the thought of having a life growing with her was an amazing one, and she also revealed that she was fortunate to be with Pitt at the time because apparently, he found pregnant women sexy, which made her feel that way.

After Jolie became a mother for the first time, she continued to consider the possibility of having another child with Pitt. They were already parents to four kids, including Maddox, Pax, Zahara, and Shiloh.
The next time she got pregnant again, they were happy; however, they were shocked when they found out it would be twins. She said:
"We weren't expecting twins. So it did shock us, and we jumped to six (children) quickly."

Jolie also admitted that she and Pitt loved the challenge. Six kids were a handful, but according to the proud mom, they would have help from family — Pitt's mom and dad were never far away and were only too happy to take up the responsibility.
The couple welcomed their twins Knox and Vivienne in July 2008 via c-section, and just like the first pregnancy, Pitt was right there with her.
THEIR DIVORCE

Jolie is a very devoted mother, and she has no love for anyone who crosses her kids — not even their father, who also happened to be her husband. In September 2016, she filed for divorce from Pitt after he had an altercation with Maddox on a flight from France to Los Angeles.
By November, they reached a confidential custody agreement, but the relationship between the actor and two of their kids, Maddox and Pax, had worsened.

A source close to the family said that Pitt has accepted that the bridge between him and the boys may never be fixed, which also affected his relationship with their mother. In a later interview, Jolie confessed that she left Pitt for the sake of her family. She said:
"I separated for the wellbeing of my family. It was the right decision. I continue to focus on their healing."

Jolie also expressed pride in her kids, calling them "brave" young people who have learned not to let what they read in the news determine who they are.
As for their underage children, Pitt and Jolie continue to maintain legal and physical custody of them; nonetheless, that's as far as the public knows about their arrangement.
For Jolie, her kids are everything. She once stated in an interview that she and the actor love one another, but if anything happened to their kids, she would be unable to bear it.
