Dallas Xavier Barrino is the second child of singer Fantasia Barrino. His parents were in a troublesome affair that led to Fantasia offering a settlement fee of $100,000. Today, Dallas is the only son in his mother's blended family.

On December 13, 2011, Dallas Xavier Barrino was born. He was the second child of his mother, Grammy-winning R&B singer Fantasia Barrino, who had a ten-year-old daughter, Zion Quari Barrino, at the time. Dallas Xavier Barrino was born in North Carolina, measuring 21 inches while weighing 7 lbs and 9 oz.

Fantasia was elated at the birth of her son, who she gave birth to at Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte, North Carolina. The elated mother felt blessed to have her newborn son. However, the child's father's identity, which she initially chose to keep a secret, ruffled some feathers.

Dallas Xavier Barrino's Parents Had an Affair but Later Amicably Fixed Their Issues

The wholesome jubilation that followed Dallas's birth was cut short when his father's identity was publicized. It became known that Dallas' father, Antwaun Cook, was already a married man with a family.

This controversial news broke just three days after Fantasia was released from the hospital following an attempted medication overdose. Fantasia initially claimed that she was made to believe that Xavier's father was separated from his wife at the time.

Antwaun's wife, Paula Cook, claimed that Xavier's parent's affair began two years before he was born. Fantasia eventually admitted that she knew he was married and offered a $100,000 settlement fee which Antwaun's wife rejected.

The conflict was, however, resolved. Three years after Dallas' birth, Fantasia shared a post to Instagram, showing her son with his paternal siblings, stepmother, and biological father, with a caption that illudes to their issues being resolved.

Fantasia did have words after the whole controversy. She spoke to celebrity blogger, Ifelicious in 2013 about some of the perceptions people had about the case between her and Paula. She said:

"They kept running with this whole knowledge thing, and she stole somebody from some woman…Well, if everybody really looks at it and goes and does their research, I won that case. So obviously, if I won that case, it never was what they said it was."

Dallas Xavier Barrino Now Lives Harmoniously with Half-Sisters & Stepfather

Fantasia won the third season of "American Idol." At the time, there was not much known about the singer. Dallas' Grammy-winning mother was already a parent to his 21-year-old sister, Zion, when she won the talent search competition. However, there is not too much public knowledge about Fantasia's firstborn.

Their love as a family transcends the hurdles Fantasia experienced with Dallas' father in the 2010s. Dallas became a stepson when his mother married businessman Kendall Taylor in 2015.

Kendall loves his stepchildren and has a son of his own. He worded a montage of their blended family on Dallas' 9th birthday in 2020 via Instagram. The post shows Dallas dressed in yellow vans, a pair of blue jeans, a mickey mouse hoodie, and a brown Louis Vuitton cap.

The pair, who are still married, had their first child and Fantasia's second daughter, Keziah London Taylor, on May 23, 2021. The family welcomed their premature baby girl home after she spent nearly a month in intensive care. Fantasia shared a photo of her blended family while pregnant with Keziah on Christmas.

Fantasia has overcome the controversy surrounding her personal life at the time of Dallas' birth. At the time, Dallas' mother expressed how grateful she was about her healthy birth, saying, "I feel so blessed that my son Dallas Xavier was born healthy and is a wonderful new addition to our family."

However, It is pretty peculiar that Dallas' mother has removed all pictures of him from her social media. All excluding a photo of her first son on his 9th birthday. The reasons are unknown, but Fantasia continues to live a happy life with her husband of seven years and children from three different relationships.
