Sophia Di Martino's Husband Is Talented Filmmaker Will Sharpe
Married to one of MCU's most prominent actresses, Sophia Di Martino, Will Sharpe is also a star in his own right. Alongside being a father of two with his beloved wife, the Japanese-English filmmaker is also a screenwriter and actor.
Will Sharpe's wife, Sophia Di Martino, had been acting for nearly two decades when she joined MCU as Loki's Variant, Sylvie Laufeydottir. Born in Nottinghamshire, England, the half-Italian actress's earliest credit dates back to 2004 in the TV series, "Holby City."
She appeared in several other TV shows in the years that followed before landing one of the leading roles in the British drama series "The Royal Today" as Gemma Pennant in 2008. Before joining the cast of "The Royal Today," Di Martino starred in the award-winning and decades-old BBC drama "Casualty."

When she joined "Loki," her appearance on the Disney+ show opposite Tom Hiddleston and Owen Wilson garnered mixed reviews. While some viewers disliked her character, many adored the Loki variant she played.
Moreover, as Di Martino's fanbase grew, her personal life with Sharpe became a subject of interest. While she and Sharpe have protected their privacy, they've also allowed the world a glimpse into their lives as partners and parents.

Sophia Di Martino's Husband, Will Sharpe, Is a Star in His Own Right
Sharpe drew his first breath in London, England, on September 22, 1986. He spent his early years in Tokyo, Japan, where he became fluent in Japanese, and moved to Surrey, England, at eight years old.
Growing up as a mixed-race kid—his mother is Japanese, making his father English—Sharpe lived the full realities of both parts of his identity, which informed who he is now. He felt like somewhat of an outsider, as he explained:
"If you're mixed-race, when you're in Japan you feel British, and when you're in England you feel Japanese. You're trying to get your feet on the ground wherever you go."

Sharpe added that moving from England to Japan "took some adjustment," but being in both locations gave him a dual "outsider's perspective." As he pursued his career, he took some inspiration from his Japanese upbringing and even his hobbies.
After graduating from the University of Cambridge in 2008 and joining the Royal Shakespeare Company between that year and the following, Sharpe donned many hats as an entertainer. He became a filmmaker, releasing his first feature film, "Black Pond," in 2011.
He also became a screenwriter, with credits for "Never Mind The Buzzcocks" and the 2021 biographical drama "The Electrical Life of Louis Wain," starring Benedict Cumberbatch and Claire Foy—mother to Ivy Rose Moore.

Furthermore, Sharpe is the creator of the award-winning dark British comedy series, "Flowers," starring his beau and Olivia Colman, among others. He collaborated again with Colman and David Thewlis in the HBO mini-series "The Landscapers."
Dabbling in acting, Sharpe most recently played a character named Rodney in 2019's "Giri/Haji." Speaking about his creative process, he likened it to surfing, an aquatic activity the director seemed to enjoy. He found similarities between engaging in the sport and writing, as he explained:
"When I came back to writing, having been surfing, I found myself reflecting on how there are certain similarities: you have to get everything technically right, but you're still at the mercy of this much greater power."

Sharpe added that 95% of the process felt more or less grueling, but the remaining 5% made it all worth it: he found it "so exhilarating" that he would want to start doing it again "straight away." His enthusiasm also doesn't go unappreciated, as Colman once stated:
"I had loved working with Will on 'Flowers.' He has the most wonderfully creative mind, and as a director, I loved the notes he gave me."
Sharpe is also passionate about mental health awareness, which he goes out of his way to incorporate into his craft. During a 2018 interview, he praised the cast of "Flowers" for skillfully displaying the reality of such a concept, all while portraying the show's twisted humor.

Sophia Di Martino and Will Sharpe Keep Their Family Life Away from the Spotlight
It's unknown when the lovebirds met or married, as they've kept those details to themselves; however, verified public sites have described Sharpe as Di Martino's husband. They've mostly kept their family life away from social media, save for the rare shares now and then.
Last year in May, Di Martino posted a red carpet snap of herself and Sharpe after attending the BAFTA dinner and joked about not having to cook. She also referred to herself and her husband as "mum and dad," alluding to their parenthood.

The couple welcomed their first baby in 2019. When Di Martino was eight months pregnant with their second child, director Marley Morrison cast her in the role of Lucy, the protagonist's older pregnant sister, in "Sweetheart."
The pair had previously worked on the film short "Baby Gravy" when everything simply aligned. Talking about the collaboration, Di Martino explained that Lucy had to be pregnant in the movie, so the timing worked in her favor.
The news of her second pregnancy broke after appearing with her baby bump at the "Sweetheart" premiere in September 2021. A few months after she gave birth for the first time, Di Martino returned to work for stunt training for "Loki" Season 1.
Chatting with Elle Magazine in November 2021, she expressed her determination when balancing her career and parenthood the second time around but admitted that she still found it nerve-wracking. However, armed with her experience as a first-time mom, she said:
"I feel like I've done it once, so I can do it again. I know a few hacks now; I’ve made a few shortcuts that I can lean on. I know what to ask for. I know what to prepare the producers for, if they haven't worked with a pumping mom before. I definitely feel like I’m armed with some knowledge and some practice"
In May 2022, the actress opened up about postpartum depression on Instagram. Alongside a long and touching reflection about her emotional and mental struggles after her baby was born was a black-and-white photo of herself cradling the newborn ten minutes after giving birth.
