Lil Nas X is a rapper who dropped out of the University of West Georgia after one year of studying to pursue a musical career.

Born Montero Lamar Hill on April 9, 1999, in Atlanta, Georgia, the Hollywood star rose to superstardom following the release of his country rap single, "Old Town Road."

Lil Nas X, who featured country singer Billy Ray Cyrus on the hit song, became the most-nominated male artist at the 62nd Annual Grammy Awards. He bagged Best Music Video and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance awards.

The songwriter garnered a slew of accolades for "Old Town Road," including Song of the Year and two MTV Video Music Awards. Lil Nas X also made history by becoming the first openly LGBTQ Black singer to bag a Country Music Association Award.

Lil Nas X Had a Boyfriend in the Past

Lil Nas X has been romantically linked to people he worked with. After releasing his "That's What I Want" music video in 2021, rumors swirled that he was dating professional dancer Yai Ariza – who starred as his love interest in the video.

The "Rodeo" singer was asked about the rumors during his appearance on "SiriusXM" that year, and he confirmed it, revealing they were an item and were "on good terms" when they split. The music star also hinted they might get back together.

Lil Nas X expressed he still loved the Colombian native and described him as "amazing" before explaining why they parted ways. He said:

"I wanted to, like, just kind of focus on my music."

The hip-hop star admitted Ariza was "the best person I've ever dated." The award-winning singer once stated his relationship with his former partner was the most serious one he ever had.

He delved more into their split and said being involved with someone is a "responsibility," something he was unprepared to take on because he tends to retreat and focus solely on himself.

Amid the breakup, he told Andy Cohen that he did not want another boyfriend then but expressed he would like to kiss men once in a while.

Lil Nas X spoke more candidly about his love life in a November 2021 interview, where he disclosed he only dated men after he stopped dating women.

Meanwhile, it seems his ex-boyfriend Ariza, who is based in Los Angeles, has since moved on from their split. He, too, has chosen to focus on his dancing career and frequently shares videos of dance routines on his Instagram page, followed by over 180K people.

Ariza does the same thing on his Twitter account, and from one of the clips, there is a video of him dancing to one of Lil Nas X's songs. The clip dates back to August 2021.

Lil Nas X Came Out through a Tweet

Lil Nas X came out in July 2019 through a tweet writing, "Thought I made it obvious." The announcement became public knowledge during Pride Month. The tweet was accompanied by a photo showing rainbow colors.

The showbiz star never planned on coming out as a teenager because he witnessed how people from the LGBTQ+ community were mistreated.

He decided he could not handle such and told himself he would take his secret to the grave. However, things changed once he became famous. Speaking on his success, the six-time Grammy Award nominee said:

Lil Nas X Playfully Responds to Saweetie's Celebrity Crush Comment

Lil Nas X even has admirers in the entertainment industry. Rapper Saweetie revealed during her appearance on E! Online that he was her celebrity crush:

"He's so fine to me. He looks better than me."

Lil Nas X reacted to the fellow singer's comments during the interview on Twitter. He reposted the video and jokingly tweeted, "Goodbye LGBTQ community, we had a great run."

During the interview, Saweetie mentioned fellow artists she previously worked with and those she had crushes on. Apart from Lil Nas X, Rihanna also made the list of her girl crush.
