Josh Kiszka is the lead singer of the rock band Greta Van Fleet, comprising his two brothers and a friend. The frontman soon garnered a large following after making a name for himself as a musician, and his fans quickly became interested in his dating life.

However, the singer remained private despite the rumors and the allegations about who his girlfriend was. Until recently, when Josh Kiszka revealed that he did not have a girlfriend as he has been in "a loving, same-sex relationship" for nearly a decade.

Although Greta Van Fleet was formed more than ten years ago, hype began to surround the musical group after they signed with Lava Records in 2017 and released their debut EP. However, as Kiszka and his band became more popular, the group revealed they preferred to remain private. Band member Sam Wagner said:

"Its-tight knit, and we're very private in a lot of ways. That's how we like it."

The band's private nature is also applied to their music. Not only did Kiszka not speak about his love life, but he chose not to sing about love either. "I wasn't turned on by the cliche 'love you, baby, I want to be yours' kind of thing. I want people to lean into things that are challenging," he said.

The speculation about Kiszka's girlfriend stretches back to 2018, when one fan tweeted, "Okay, but does Josh Kiszka have a girlfriend ?? Asking for a friend." A few years later, a different social media user claimed to be the singer's girlfriend, writing, "...you caught me. It's true; I'm Josh Kiszka's secret girlfriend."

Amid the rumors, fans made a cartoon about the situation between Kiszka and his rumored girlfriend, and a different social media user commented, "The josh kiszka girlfriend rumors.... we get a new one every week. [sic]"

As the allegations spiraled, a fan tweeted, "Josh Kiszka's possible girlfriend and aliens have a lot in common...we know that she probably exists somewhere out there and fear the moment when her existence becomes reality."

Another shared, "Found out Josh Kiszka might have a secret girlfriend. Absolutely crushed rn." And while fans were eager to find out who Kiszka's girlfriend was, he revealed that everyone was his type during an interview in 2021.

Josh Kiszka Reveals He Has Same-Sex Partner Amidst Girlfriend Rumors

On June 20, 2023, Kiszka took to Instagram to address the legislators who were proposing bills that "threaten the freedom of love" in Tennessee and shared:

"These issues are especially close to my heart as I've been in a loving, same-sex relationship with my partner for the past eight years. Those close to me are well aware, but it's important to me to share publicly."

After his post, Kiszka received an outpour of love and support from fans and celebrities. "Love you, Josh," Rob Halford, who, like, Elton John, Freddie Mercury, and Lil Nas X, is an openly gay musician, commented, along with several supportive emoticons. The band Diry Honey also shared, "We couldn't support you MORE!"
