'Why Should We Get Married?': Goldie Hawn on Not Marrying Kurt Russell after 40-Year Romance
Goldie Hawn is not walking down the aisle with her long-term partner Kurt Russell anytime soon. During an interview, the 77-year-old actress gave reasons why she and her partner won't get married.
The veteran actress Goldie Hawn won't tie the knot with her longtime partner Kurt Russell despite being together for four decades. During an interview, Hawn was questioned about why she and Russell had not gotten married despite spending many years together. In response, she posed a counter-question and asked, "Why Should We Get Married?"
The actress and her partner had previously been married to different individuals, and those marriages didn't work out. Hawn further commented on the negative implications of divorce, mentioning that it can become a lucrative business and damage someone's reputation.

Hawn and Russell have proved that relationships in Hollywood can stand the test of time. The two began their relationship in 1983 and established themselves as one of Hollywood's most revered and iconic couples.
Despite the passage of time, they have maintained a strong bond, and as a result, they see no necessity in getting married. They believe their love for each other doesn't require a "marriage certificate" as proof.
During the 1989 ceremony, the veteran actress took it further with playful teasing regarding her relationship with Russell. The couple appeared to entertain the notion of getting married, adding to the speculation and curiosity surrounding their relationship.

During that period, they constantly received the question about when they would get married and were puzzled by the significance placed on it.
They even consulted their children about their views on the matter, and since they expressed no interest or concern, Hawn and Russell saw no reason to pursue marriage. The couple's nonchalant attitude stemmed from the fact that it didn't matter to them or their family.
According to the couple, marriage is not important. What's more valuable is the people, the relationship, and the willingness to be together. The couple attribute the longevity of their relationship to a few key factors. They emphasize the importance of setting their intentions on happiness and prioritizing the strength of their family.

According to them, everything else naturally falls into line when these foundational aspects are in place. The pair take pride in being parents to four children: Oliver Hudson, Kate Hudson, Boston Russell, and Wyatt Russell. Oliver and Kate are Hawn's children from her marriage to Bill Hudson.
Boston is Russell's son from his previous marriage to Season Hubbly. On the other hand, Wyatt is the son of Hawn and Russell, born in 1986. The couple's blended family has brought them joy and fulfillment.
