Michelle Obama Shows Her Diamond Ring & $3200 Purse While Sporting Denim Dress in a Rare Appearance

Former First Lady of the United States, Michelle Obama, recently made a public appearance, stepping out in a stylish, vacation-ready outfit.

Obama was photographed publicly in Madrid, Spain, on September 6, 2023. During her outing, the author sported a low-cut dark denim maxi dress with a bright cardigan on top.

The mother of two, who painted her nailed bright white, accessorized her look with a stack of colorful bracelets on one wrist and silver earrings, and a pair of black strappy slides.

Obama tied her hair back in a high ponytail atop her head and completed her overall appearance with a head scarf.

The American attorney, who reportedly looked "somber but stylish," carried a black Bottega Veneta handbag. According to the website, the Arco Woven East-West Tote Bag costs $3200. The "Michelle Obama: Speeches on Life, Love, and American Values" author also sported diamond rings on both her right and left hands for the outing.

Most recently, Obama was spotted wearing yet another stylish outfit in Mallorca while dining with pals in Puerto Portals. She opted for a casual vacation attire, including loose black high-waisted shorts and a tank top. She finished her look with bead and shell embellishments and tassels.

Obama's Blingy Wedding Rings as First Lady

In November 2018, the Chicago native showed off a classic solitaire diamond engagement ring set in yellow gold and a simple wedding band. That same month, Olivia Landau, CEO and Founder of The Clear Cut, discussed Obama's newly upgraded bling in an interview. She stated the "Becoming" author's old ring appeared to be a 2.5 carat Round Brilliant Diamond wedding band.

“[…] The new ring looks to be a Round Brilliant Diamond around 2.5cts set in a platinum ring with pave set diamonds down the band," Landau explained, adding that her engagement ring is paired with a matching platinum diamond eternity and that it is positioned against the engagement band.

Two years before that, in 2016, Obama rocked a glitzy cocktail ring during a black-tie state dinner in Bueno Aires, Argentina. She had always worn the two bands, and per reports, she upgraded to a new diamond ring in January 2017. They are reportedly fully encrusted in diamonds featuring a large square stone on the engagement ring.

During her eight-year tenure as First Lady at the White House, Obama became known for her style, including a modern yet sophisticated fashion sense.

The Harvard alumni married former President Barack Obama in October 1992. He proposed to her with a round-cut diamond ring over candlelit dinner. The lovebirds have been married for 30 years and shares two daughters, Malia, born in July 1998, and Sasha, who arrived in June 2001.
