Watch Jennifer Lopez Appear to Call Drake a 'Booty Call' on It's My Party LA Tour
Jennifer Lopez cheekily called out her rapper ex, Drake, during the opening night of her “It’s My Party” tour in Los Angeles on Friday, June 7. Both exes have a reputation for calling out each other in their music.
Lopez, 49, had the opening night of her tour on Friday at The Forum in LA and is now making headlines for seemingly shading the Canadian rapper whom she once briefly dated.
Drake’s song “Hotline Bling,” played during a dance break at the event and after the line: “You used to call me on my cell phone,” Lopez said “Huh. Booty call.”
According to US Weekly, the “Limitless” singer is in the habit of using the “booty call” line at her shows; she reportedly said the same thing in 2016 during the opening night of her “All I Have” residency in Las Vegas.
Drake, 32, also seems to enjoy chipping in J.Lo’s name in his songs. In the 2017 track “Free Smoke,” the rapper said: “I drunk text J.Lo / Old number, so it bounce back.”
He also reportedly sampled J.Lo’s 1999 hit “If You Had My Love” on another 2017 track “Teenage Fever” and on the 2018 tune “Diplomatic Immunity,” he sang: “2010 was when I lost my halo/2017 I lost a J.Lo.”
DRAKE & J-LO: RELATIONSHIP TIMELINE
Lopez and Drake were briefly linked together in 2016, per ELLE. They even posted loved-up photos of each other on Instagram and attended a prom-themed event toward the end of that year.
Sadly, even though the rapper met her kids, twins Max and Emme, the romance would fizzle out after only a few months.
Lopez has since moved on to retired baseball player Alex Rodriguez who she said “Yes” to in March after two years of dating.
DRAKE'S FEELINGS FOR J.LO
According to HollywoodLife, a source close to Drake claims the rapper wouldn’t mind getting together with Lopez again, but respects her relationship with Rodriguez, 43.
“Drake still thinks Jennifer [Lopez] is a goddess and if she was single he’d no doubt take a chance to make his move. But Drake won’t even try to go there, he knows Jennifer and A-Rod are together and he is very respectful of that.”
LOPEZ & RODRIGUEZ
Meanwhile, Lopez and Rodriguez are making strides in their relationship, especially as regards blending their families.
Fans of the couple already know that Rodriguez’s daughters, 14-year-old Natasha and 11-year-old Ella get along with the singer’s 11-year-old twins, but it appears even the exes are now on board.
A BLENDED FAMILY DELIGHT
Late last year, Rodriguez’s ex-wife, Cynthia Scurtis, was reportedly angry that Lopez interfered in their child support payment battle, but everyone seems to be getting along now.
Last month, the former athlete shared a photo featuring J.Lo and Scurtis at the middle school graduation of their daughter, Natasha.
Mere days earlier, Rodriguez also shocked the world with a video of himself sitting between Lopez and her ex-husband, Marc Anthony at a school concert where the exes’ son, Max, was performing.
Talk about blending at its best!
