Saifoulaye Freeman Was a Stay-At-Home Dad – Facts about Morgan Freeman's Son
Morgan Freeman has had four children, three biological and one adopted. Among those is Saifoulaye Freeman, a man who has lived much of his life outside the public eye, despite his father's global stardom.
Saifoulaye was born when his father was in his mid-20s and still trying to get into acting. Due to his father's dedication to his work, the pair never had much of a relationship while Saifoulaye was growing up; hence, he was primarily raised by his mother.
Saifoulaye is the second oldest of the Freeman brood. The oldest is Alfonso, who was inspired by his father's success and decided to follow in his footsteps. Deena is the third oldest who was adopted by Morgan. The youngest is Morgana, who is involved in the entertainment industry like two of her three older siblings.
Saifoulaye Came into Morgan Freeman's Life Long before His Fame
According to IMDb, Saifoulaye was born on August 31, 1961, as the second of his father's kids. However, when he was born, his father had yet to build a name for himself in the acting industry, having just left his post in the US Air Force a few years before. Morgan is said to have started performing on stage in the mid-1960s.
It is unclear who Saifoulaye's mother is. Generally, he prefers to keep out of the public eye, and not much is known about him, even his profession. He is the only one of his father's children who has never appeared on the red carpet with their world-famous dad.
One sure thing is that he did not follow in his father's footsteps. In 2007, it was noted that Saifoulaye resided in Michigan and was a stay-at-home father.
He is the half-brother of Alfonso from his father's relationship with Loletha Adkins. Although he grew up under the radar, Alfonso has established a decent acting career. He is credited with over 35 productions, including appearances alongside his father and Brad Pitt in "Se7en" and Tim Robbins in "The Shawshank Redemption."

Saifoulaye Was Raised by His Mother
Although they later reconnected, Morgan's work as an actor contributed to his absence in his children's lives, leading to Saifoulaye being raised primarily by his mother. The Hollywood legend pointed out:
"When my kids were growing up, I was off working. Two of them I didn’t even have any truck with at all.”
Additionally, Morgan has spoken about his fatherhood and the kind of parent he has been. He conceded that fatherhood did not change him because he was not married to the mothers of his children, taking away much of the fatherhood responsibilities.
However, although it took him a while, he says he has gotten better at being a father figure, especially to his grandchildren, with whom he sometimes spends some time.
Saifoulaye Freeman's Half-Siblings Have More Public Lives
Saifoulaye has three half-siblings on his father's side, all of whom have worked in the film industry to various degrees. None of them has come close to their father's impact, though.
The youngest, Morgana, from Morgan's marriage to Jeanette Adair Bradshaw, had a very short stint on-screen. She has only one credit to her name: "Death of a Prophet," a 1981 television film starring Morgan Freeman as Malcolm X. She reportedly still works off-screen in the film industry.

Deena is not Morgan's biological daughter. The star adopted her after marrying her mother, Bradshaw, in 1967. She works in Hollywood as a celebrity hairstylist. She has reportedly worked as her father's stylist on many occasions, including on the set of "The Nutcracker and the Four Realms" featuring Keira Knightley and Helen Mirren.
Of the Freeman kids, Alfonso is the one who made the most impact on-screen. History shows that he was inspired to act by his father's success in the movie industry. He has made brief appearances in various television shows and films.
