Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie may no longer be together, but they raised six children together. Their children grew up with unique personalities and built their identities despite their parents' fame.

While the Jolie-Pitt children have an affinity for privacy, they are sometimes seen out and about taking part in everyday activities. In early March, it was their two daughters, Shiloh and Zahara. More recently, it was their son, Pax.

Pax was seen at MOTI Physiotherapy, a physical therapy clinic in Los Angeles. His appearance came on Friday, and although he is rarely seen out, he made this appearance worthwhile for the paparazzi.

He was seen heading back toward his car after leaving the clinic building, wearing sweatpants, a t-shirt, a snapback, and sunglasses. Before the 19-year-old climbed into his car, he lifted his shirt to flex his abs for onlookers and photographers. He appeared to enjoy the view, too.

Why Was Pax a "Goofball" After Brad and Angelina Adopted Him?

Brad and Angelina adopted Pax when he was three years old. Jolie revealed in May 2007 that his adoption was official and that he had been born in November, three years before his adoption took place. His full name is Pax Thien Jolie-Pitt.

His name means Peaceful Sky. Pax is peace in Latin, and Thien means sky in Vietnamese. Angelina wrote a beautiful message in the visitor's book at the orphanage he was adopted from in Vietnam.

The actress thanked the carers at the orphanage for looking after her son and assured them he would miss them as much as they would miss him. Pax had been living at Tam Binh orphanage in Ho Chi Minh City after he was abandoned at the hospital as a newborn.

Angelina and her eldest son, Maddox, went to the orphanage to fetch Pax together, although Brad did not join in the trip. A rep for the family said:

"Brad very much wanted to be there but is under contract working on a film in Los Angeles and, as a result, couldn't go."

It was difficult for Brad and Angelina to adopt Pax because Vietnamese law states that unmarried couples should not adopt children. For this reason, Angelina applied to adopt Pax on her own.

Angelina, Maddox, and Pax had to stay in Vietnam for a week before returning to America because they had to wait for Pax's American passport to be processed. The family was greeted at the orphanage with flowers.

Although he was a little shy when his parents adopted him, Pax was in good health and ready to start a new phase in his life with the family that would be his forever.

Angelina chose Vietnam because she had traveled all over southeast Asia and had visited Vietnam itself twice. One visit was the Thanksgiving before she adopted Pax, and it was a trip she took with Brad.

The actress found it vital that she balanced the races of her children, so when she adopted Maddox from Cambodia and Zahara from Ethiopia, she said she would like to have another Asian child in the house for Maddox and another African child in the house for Zahara.

However, his adoption was not an easy process as it first had to be approved in Vietnam, and then when the family arrived back in America, an LA judge had to approve his adoption, too. Fortunately, the processes both went smoothly.

Angelina explained that he had been limited for free choice at the orphanage and had very little personal space as twenty other children were living in the room with him at any given time, so when he came home, he could flourish.

Talking about Pax's transition from being an orphan surrounded by other children in a similar position to being a little boy with a loving family, Jolie gushed:

"He's learning English, and he's so loving, and he's wild and free 'cause suddenly he has freedom, so he's a little wild and crazy. But what a tough, remarkable little person."

When he turned seven, the family had established that he was a water baby who loved being in the pool. The family said that he had become more independent during the year before him turning seven and was a "goofball."

While he was a goofy child who enjoyed making the family laugh, they said he had calmed down and enjoyed taking some quiet time to read books or play games by himself occasionally.

Now, he is almost out of his teens, and although he gave his family a run for their money when he was younger, he has grown into a fine young man whose personality is not similar to that of the young boy he was.

Has Grown-Up Pax Changed?

Now that Pax has grown up, he has changed drastically from the wild goofball he was in his childhood. He is currently a responsible adult, of who his parents are incredibly proud. He has proved time and time again how trustworthy he is.

Earlier this month, Pax showed he was a responsible young man when he took his dog for a walk. The same day, he went to the grocery store and loaded his cart with several brown paper bags.

He then packed the grocery bags into the trunk of his car, which he proudly boasts is a "clean air vehicle." On each occasion, he was unaccompanied by either his famous mother or father, proving his trustworthiness.

However, he occasionally goes shopping or dog walking with his mother and his younger sister, Vivienne. He often wears similar outfits and is conscious of the environment in most things he does.
