Elvira Wayans was born into a family of iconic entertainers who continue trailblazing through the comic and acting industry. Her siblings have collaborated on numerous productions; however, little is known about her life and career.

Elvira Wayans is one of ten siblings, born to and named after social worker and homemaker Elvira and supermarket manager Howell Wayans. Eight of Elvira's nine brothers and sisters have made names for themselves in the entertainment industry.

However, she and her sister, Devonne Chaunté "Vonnie" Wayans, have largely remained outside the spotlight, and it appears their famous siblings have respected that privacy. Little is known about how they've led their personal lives and careers.

The media primarily acknowledges them as part of the ever-thriving Wayans dynasty. On the contrary, their brothers and sisters have been relatively open about their upbringing and how they've gone about romance and parenthood.

In addition to the curiosity they arouse with their personal lives, the New York City natives, including Kim, Keenen, Damon, Shawn, and Marlon Wayans, have been lauded for their work onscreen, on stage, and behind the scenes.

Nadia Wayans Stays Just as Private as Elvira

Like her sisters, Elvira and Vonnie, Nadia Wayans leads a private life and seems to have only dabbled in acting in the late 1980s. She appeared as a Bar Patron in the 1988 comedy flick "I'm Gonna Git You Sucka."

The film was among the earliest Wayans collaborations, but it's the only onscreen credit under Nadia's name. Per her IMDb, she is a mother of two to Damien Dante Wayans and Chaunte Wayans, both actors and writers.

Kim Wayans Said Their Mom Was the Funnier Parent

Born October 16, 1961, Kim Wayans debuted onscreen in 1987, starring as Allison in the Emmy-nominated series "A Different World," opposite Jasmine Guy, Lisa Bonet, and Cree Summer.

She also appeared as a Night Club Singer in "I'm Gonna Git You Sucka." More roles followed before she joined the main cast of the beloved comedy sketch series "In Living Color" in 1990. After appearing in over a hundred episodes, the show became one of her main staples.

Kim then began writing T.V. material and is chiefly credited for over 60 episodes of "My Wife and Kids." Her love for entertainment sprouted in childhood when she would dress up in costumes she designed and gatecrash stage productions.

"I was a little desperado, trying to be involved in all the community productions that I could get into. I would just show up, get on stage and start performing!" she recalled. Her parents couldn't afford acting classes. When asked which one of them was funnier, she responded:

"My mother; she's hilarious. She's naturally funny, especially when she's not trying to be. She just has a great sense of humor and a great delivery. [...] My father's funny but in an annoying kind of way."
