Amy Ryan and her husband have become a power couple in the entertainment industry. While the actress is commonly known for her talent in front of the camera, Eric Slovin has found success behind it as a writer and producer who occasionally acts.

Who Is Amy Ryan's Husband?

Eric was born on September 11, 1967, in New York City and has been married to his wife since August 2011. He began his writing career over two decades ago in 2001 when he co-wrote an episode of "Comedy Central Presents."

After writing "Superbrat," a screenplay about a temperamental tennis champion, Eric received more recognition for his skills.

Since then, Eric has co-written on many other well-known shows, including "Saturday Night Live" — hosted by numerous celebrities, including Kim Kardashian, Keke Palmer, and Austin Butler — "High Maintenance" and "Crashing."

In 2003, Eric earned an Emmy nomination for an Outstanding Writing For A Variety, Music Or Comedy Program award for his work on "SNL." A few years later, he was nominated for the same award.

However, this time, it was for his writing on "Night Of Too Many Stars: An Overbooked Benefit For Autism Education." In 2013, Eric was nominated again for his writing talents on "Night Of Too Many Stars: America Comes Together For Autism Programs."

After writing "Superbrat," a screenplay about a temperamental tennis champion, Eric received more recognition for his skills. In 2013, he made it onto Vulture's Black List, an annual ranking of the best-liked unproduced screenplays.

Amy Ryan's Husband Has a Comedic Background

Following his background in live comedy, in 2018, Eric joined other comedians on "Uptown Showdown," a comedy debate series that tackles humorous discussion topics, such as whether cake is better than pie.

Amy's husband has also dabbled in acting, as he once joined her during a scene on "High Maintenance," a show he also co-wrote. The actress revealed:

"My husband was also a writer on this for a while, and then they threw him in a scene, and he was terrified."

Their characters played swingers in the episode where Eric and Amy shared the small screen. However, the couple was not playing each other's love interests.

After the actors were instructed to slowly start touching each other, Eric's wife said through laughter, "He was like, 'What do I do? What do I do?' and I'm like, 'I'm your real wife, it's okay. You can touch my neck.'"

Amy Ryan and Her Husband Share a Daughter

Eric and his wife welcomed their daughter, Georgia Gracie Slovin, in New York City on October 15, 2009. Amy Ryan's representative revealed, "All are doing well and so happy." According to reports, the family of three lives in a Brooklyn home Eric and his wife purchased in 2011.

During an interview, Eric's wife revealed having difficulty balancing her professional life with motherhood. "When she was an infant, you can't think of anything else. But now she's a little older, I do think of her all the time, but it's good for me too to have a mental and creative break," Amy said about returning to work after becoming a mother.
