Goldie Hawn, 80, Steals the Show in Kate Hudson’s European Family Vacation Post — Video

Kate Hudson's latest family vacation post began as a collection of European memories until the "Death Becomes Her" actress stepped into one of the videos.

Goldie Hawn recently joined relatives for an open-air meal, and daughter Kate Hudson kept the camera rolling when the 80-year-old actress left the table. Viewers quickly weighed in on Goldie's energy and natural look.

Kate shared photos and videos from the family getaway on Instagram, captioning the carousel, "A few love letters from Europe 💌."

The post showed several scenes from the trip before turning to Goldie. One photo captured a group gathered around a long table at a waterfront restaurant, with boats and a tree-covered shoreline visible beyond the open dining area.

Other images showed family members swimming in clear blue water, posing on the beach and spending time together near the shore.

Food also featured prominently in the carousel. One image showed a table covered with tubs of ice cream in several flavors, chocolate-dipped cones and other frozen treats, adding another glimpse of the family's meals during the trip.

The beach photos carried the same informal tone. In one selfie, several family members posed in swimwear near the water, while another image showed adults and children laughing on the sand with boats anchored offshore.

One photo showed a large group gathered around a long wooden table at a waterfront restaurant, with plates, glasses and serving dishes spread between them. A marina, small boats and a tree-covered shoreline filled the view beyond the open dining area.

Another image captured a quieter dinner later in the day. Family members sat around a table set with white linens, floral plates, water glasses and wine glasses as the sun dropped behind the restaurant's stone columns.

After those scenes of swimming, beach time and family meals, one video shifted the focus to Goldie during another open-air meal.

Kate's Camera Stayed on Goldie Hawn After She Left the Table

Goldie first appeared near the dining table holding a large clear bottle of what appeared to be white wine. Her open cover-up revealed the thin straps and plunging neckline of her swimsuit.

As she moved away from the table, Goldie began swaying and dancing, carrying the bottle in one hand and moving her free arm as she crossed the dining area.

The European video joins several swimsuit photos Goldie has shared over the years, showing the actress appearing comfortable in her own skin as she continues to wear one-piece suits on family getaways.

In June 2017, Goldie posted an Instagram photo from Greece with the caption, "Cheers to you all from GREECE!" She sat beside an outdoor table near the water in a black swimsuit and bright green wrap, holding a bottle in one hand and a glass containing a pink drink in the other.

She shared another swimsuit photo in September 2025 while celebrating her son Oliver Hudson's special day. "Happy birthday my Oliver. Every moment I'm with you is a blessing 🩷 you captured my heart at our first hello! I love you more than words can say. 💞" Goldie wrote.

Goldie Says Only the Right Material Would Bring Her Back to Acting

The family getaway also comes during a period when Goldie has largely stepped away from major film roles, though she has not ruled out returning to acting.

Goldie discussed her acting future in an April 2026 interview with People. The outlet noted that she had not appeared in a major project since 2020's "The Christmas Chronicles 2," in which she played Mrs. Claus opposite longtime partner Kurt Russell.

"It's about the content," Goldie told the publication. She said she had read scripts and shows that she either did not like or did not believe suited her.

She also said she was satisfied with what she had already accomplished. "The one thing about acting is that I've done it, and I had a great career, and I honor that," Goldie said.

Still, she has not closed the door on another role. "If somebody came up with a really cool, funny script...I think it would be great," she said.

Goldie's latest European video also echoed a 2021 family trip to Greece, when she shared another swimsuit clip of herself dancing and playing in the water.

The "Overboard" star posted the video on Instagram, wearing a fitted black swimsuit with a brightly colored cover-up as she showed off her slow-motion dance moves.

The clip showed Goldie playing in the water and throwing her hands in the air during the vacation with Kurt. Her daughter Kate was also there with her husband and daughter, Rani.

Bingham, then 9, and Ryder, then 17, who are Kate's sons, joined the group a little later and took part in the family vacation. Hudson shared online how happy she was when her sons joined them in Europe.

Goldie was clearly enjoying herself and having fun with her family. She captioned the dancing video, saying:

"Can't stop, won't stop dancing in Skiathos, Greece 🇬🇷 Mamma Mia, what an island!!"

Goldie, who was 75 at the time, had often spoken about aging, wellness and keeping her routine simple. She said staying active and eating well were important parts of how she cared for herself.

She also said she did not follow a complicated skincare routine. Goldie said she used coconut oil and, like her mother had done, sometimes applied lemon to her face. She also said she avoided putting chemicals in her hair.

Goldie said she did not take her appearance too seriously. Her routine included green juice and regular exercise, including walking and running. She said:

"I try to stay positive and be very very active. I walk every day and I run and do all kinds of that."

Goldie had also spoken about a difficult period in her 20s, when she experienced depression as her career was taking off. She said the struggle became severe enough that she did not want to go out in public.

She later said she sought help from a psychologist and received treatment. Goldie discussed the experience while advocating for children's mental health resources during the COVID-19 pandemic and through her MindUP initiative.

Despite her earlier struggles, Goldie shared a close bond with Kate. Kate said she and her brother Oliver often took road trips with their mother when they were young, and those experiences later influenced how she raised her own children.

Goldie and Kate also remained close as Kate navigated an estranged relationship with her father, Bill Hudson. After Goldie's divorce, she began dating Kurt in 1983, and he helped raise her children as part of their blended family.

Despite being together for 43 years, Goldie and her partner, Kurt, never married. The couple remained committed to each other decades after they began dating.

Goldie Hawn said their decision to stay unmarried was psychological. She explained that she never felt the need to be tightly bound to someone and valued the freedom to live life on her own terms.

She also joked that if she and Russell had married, they probably would have divorced by then.
