The young man we're referring to is none other than Dylan Douglas, the eldest child of Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones. Dylan has dyslexia, a learning disability that impacts the way individuals read and comprehend words, letters, and symbols.

In 2016, the then-15-year-old Dylan made a speech about growing up with dyslexia at a public event in New York. He reflected on his struggles as a child, noting how his life changed for the better when his parents moved from Bermuda to the U.S. so he could attend a special needs school and fulfill his educational goals.

After that, Dylan began attending the Windward School in NYC, where he found supportive mentors, great friends, and a conducive environment. Not only did he learn to spell his last name, but he was also taught to take pride in who he was as a person and embrace his uniqueness. Reflecting on his journey, he shared:

"I'm terminally ill with dyslexia. It didn't kill me, though. In fact, quite the opposite. Dyslexia made me stronger."

Catherine posted her son's moving speech on Facebook in 2020, writing, "My son Dylan at age 15, talking about his dyslexia so eloquently. Hard work with good teachers. Forever indebted. #educationforall."

Besides being a passionate, strong, and intelligent young man, Dylan also has a daredevil side. In August 2019, he turned to his Instagram to share a short video of him jumping out of an airplane and skydiving. He captioned the post, "Don't tell mom..." His mother commented on his video, "Mom just found out 😩😩😩😩."

After completing his schooling, Dylan went on to attend Brown University. He graduated from college in 2022, and his mom gushed about the special moment on her social media profile. Alongside an image of hugging her son, Catherine wrote: "Graduation congratulations to my boy, my pride, my joy, Dylan. I am inexplicably proud of you and I love you beyond words."

Dylan also received heartening wishes from both his parents on his 23rd birthday in August 2023. "Happy birthday Dylan! May YOUR new year, bring you joy, imagination, and love! Your biggest fan, Dad," wrote his dad, 79. "Happy birthday my boy ❤️," chimed his mom in the comments.

Catherine, 54, also penned a touching post alongside a picture of her and Dylan when he was a baby: "23 years ago today, my boy @dylan__douglas was born. He is the gift that keeps on giving, over and over and over and over again. I love you my love ♥️."

When Dylan's parents, Catherine and Michael, tied the knot in 2000, their union raised many eyebrows. At the time, the "Entrapment" actress was 31, while the "Ant-Man" actor was 56. Despite having a significant age difference of 25 years, the couple has been going strong in their relationship.

On November 18, 2023, the power couple rang in their 23rd anniversary, doting on their beautiful relationship and paying tribute to the love they've shared through the years. Catherine is known for celebrating her wedding anniversaries with touching social media posts.

For their milestone 20th anniversary celebration, the seasoned actress took to her social media to share a collage of lovely photos from their wedding day. "20 years ago today Michael and I were married!! What an amazing magical night that was! And 7304.85 days and nights on, I love you now as I did then. ( except for the point 85 bit) 😂 Thank you for the love and laughter ❤️❤️❤️❤️," she wrote.

In January 2019, the superstar duo shared the secret to their enduring marriage. "I think it's not taking the person closest to you for granted ... I think [Catherine and I] are very blessed to have a lot of mutual respect and treat the person you love the most with the most effort," expressed Michael.

On another occasion in December 2022, Catherine, who also shares a daughter, Carys Douglas, with her husband, doted on her amazing family life, saying it got "better and better" every year. While talking about her children, the proud mom shared: "Both my daughter and Dylan have been so incredibly supportive to me, not just as an actor, but just me, you know. I've been extremely blessed to be able to have both in my life."
